Jumping on the Wagon with a Twist: Aatrox soft REWORK.

I've liked Aatrox's kit since his release and enjoy playing him still. I've stalked forums to see a lot of people want him buffed and was a bit disappointed to see that the most recent buff that he will be getting is a lower CD on his passive. Don't get me wrong, this is a good buff, but this isn't the buff we (or at least I) was looking for. We wanted to feel stronger through power, not that we have more lives than a cat. I am fascinated by lore but I don't keep up with it religiously. But today I decided to read all I could about Aatrox within a couple of hours and was a bit miffed when I read his lore and compared it to his kit. That being said, let's go over some (brief) lore.

  • Aatrox's lore says he has been for many lifespans and generations.
  • Merely his presence inspires soldiers around him "Just when all hope seemed lost, Aatrox appeared among the ranks of the Protectorate. With but a few words, he urged the soldiers to fight to the last before throwing himself into battle. His presence inspired the desperate warriors."
  • He is revered almost like a savior or a god amongst multiple factions. His image/sword appears within Demacia, Noxus, Freljord, Ionia, Shurima and more when Ezreal discovers multiple artifacts containing his image
  • Through Tryndamere's lore and his own, Aatrox effortlessly turns the tide of battle.
  • Tryndamere's lore: "Raiders ambushed Tryndamere's clan in the dead of night, and though his warriors were able to push the first wave of attackers back, they weren't prepared for the dark figure that next stepped forth Aatrox . He wielded a cruel, living sword, and inspired an unhinged bloodlust in the invaders with his unearthly magic. Tryndamere's tribe was overrun within moments."
  • Aatrox's lore: "At first, they could only watch in awe as this unknown hero cleaved through their enemies, his body and blade moving in unison as if one being. Soon, the warriors found themselves imbued with a potent thirst for battle. They followed Aatrox into the fray, each fighting with the furious strength of ten until they had won a most unlikely victory."
  • In every story about the war's he fought in, he always appeared when the losing side was just about to lose and would cause the losing side to win and immediately vanish.

This brief look into his lore suggests that he should "inspire" his allies and he should have some sort of AoE abilities, or at least that is how I feel. Through inspiring, it sounds vividly like buffing your allies. Thus this brings me to my ability rework suggestions.

PLEASE NOTE: I'm not going to include many numbers because numbers can make or break an ability, so for the sake of simplicity numbers (CD's/base dmg/ratios/costs/etc) will remain the same unless stated otherwise.

Passive: Includes everything PLUS surrounding allies gain 10% of Aatrox's bonus life steal/spell vamp. Range 1100 (same as item 3105)

(Q) CHANGED: Dark Charge -Aatrox charges at target location while being unstoppable swinging his sword up and knocking enemies in the epicenter up for one second. The core idea of this change is to remove the initial flight animation that tends to make his only hard CC a bit more reliable. The time from cast to destination would be the same as Dark Flight to compensate.

(W) CHANGED: Blood Price/Thirst Every third attack Blood Thirst would also heal two nearby allies, prioritizing champions, for 30% of the BASE heal value (this would include the triple heal value). Every third attack Blood Price would hit two nearby enemies, prioritizing champions, for 50% of the damage Aatrox dealt to his initial target. Range 385 (same asitem 3074)

(E) CHANGED: Blades of Torment Just a small change. Slow being 60% up from 40% but decaying over the slow duration.

(R) CHANGED: Massacre Aatrox vanishes and reappears after a brief moment at targetted location dealing damage and granting attack speed and increases nearby allies AD by 10% of Aatrox's BONUS AD/AP while Massacre is active The idea is another leap with a range of 450 (which is only slightly farther than a flash). Before you say "too much mobility" his current Q has a 12 second CD at Rank 5, and as I said, numbers would remain the same unless stated otherwise. The range of the bonus AD would be the same as the suggested change to his passive thus they can correlate with each other. With every other change, I do NOT want to add AD ratio's to his Ultimate because I feel as though that may be TOO broken.

The idea behind above changes is to make him feel more powerful by "inspiring" his allies almost feeling like a support-y fighter. Numbers could be included, but not unless I did some severe crunching which I do not have time for at the current time due to finals being next week.

Let me know what you think!
