Mastery Points should be more tied to the rank you got, not whether you win or lose
If you win a game, you usually get somewhere between 700 and 1200 mastery points, depending on your score. If you lose a game, you get roughly between 50 and 150.
In this game in particular, I had over 200 cs more than any other person on my team, around 6,800 more gold, and did about 20k more damage. I'd say that even though we lost, this was a pretty darn good game for me. I feel like I would deserve more than the 125 or so mastery points I was awarded.
On the flip side, I've had games where I totally fed my butt off, but still managed to win (thank you, team). I earned several hundred more points there than I did in this game, which I nearly managed to carry. So here I propose a rating system like this:
S+: 1100-1300 points S: 1000-1100 points S-: 950-1000 points A+: 900-950 points A: 850-900 points A-: 775-850 points B+: 700-775 points B: 625-700 points B-: 550-625 points C+: 450-550 points C: 350-450 points C-: 250-350 points D+: 150-250 points D: 75- 150 points D-: 25-75 points
Victory bonus: 30% of your original total
This way I feel like champion mastery would be tied to how well you played your champion, rather than if you win or lose. It's "champion mastery", not "champion success". Yes, success and mastery are often tied together, but there are many random elements in LoL that can distance the two.
