i play her mid lane and to be honest building her lethality seems awful to me. i go in and dont seem to do much damage and get blown up, yet if i build trinity steraks basically bruiser build my damage is pretty much the same but i live longer. i really like the character but im confused

Same as talon

AD, qiyana is a very high skill champ, a lot of her power comes from her powerful ult though

lethality. you build her like you would build talon or zed. the triforce is a nice crutch but it's a crutch at the end of the day, treat it like training wheels or a top only thing or a cherry on top 3rd item if you're really far ahead and want to be harder to kill but also get some more dmg along the way. tiamat isn't really needed either if you can execute with lethality cause people will be scared of you jumping on them and taking away 3/4's of their hp so you get to zone for free and push the wave at your leisure (or not push and subsequently not attract jungle attention)

steraks might still be worth no matter what but i'm finding cleaver to be a better 3rd item all-around after getting 2 lethality items or a maw where needed. she's overtuned btw, pretty sure of that now, her base hp regen will be toned down no doubt about that. i'm not sure if her dmg is working as intended with it being so high in the early game if you go lethal, but hey, maybe it's supposed to do that, iunno, maybe she'll get buffs instead because the mechanics aren't being grasped by enough people to show in the metrics, iunno.

no lethality, no damage, seems to be how it works with her numbers, but you get to live longer and rotate again in extended trades with triforce which feels good but it's not actually good cause they're already supposed to be dead after the first rotation, which they are if you've gone lethal, or you're only meant to be short trading and not going for extended trades.

currently she's probably best without real defensive items at all due to her base stats likely being overtuned but who knows really, maybe rito know but we have yuumi and morde as the most recent case studies so faith is at an all time low. Qiyana she is fantastic to play though.
