99LP in ranked doesn't feel very rewarding..

This is one of the more frustrating parts of the game at the moment for me, and it's completely avoidable by having the LP system recognize when you are short 1-2 LP and bump you into promos regardless. Not sure if this a sentiment felt by the rest of the community, but I feel it could help avoid getting tilted by being forced to play an entire game with the prospect of losing several dozen LP for 1-2 measly LP. It does not feel very rewarding, and is quite anti-climatic when this happens, and again is completely unnecessary.

One caveat; The opposite could be said for having 1-2 LP remaining after a loss, potentially saving you from demotion in the event you lose your next game (particularly when on a losing streak). I appreciate this functionality of the game, as it's can be very stressful sitting on the cusp of a demotion and having this saving grace.

Not sure what the right approach or balance is here - should we be allowed to have the former in addition to the latter? Or is that asking too much?

Input is appreciated.

I'm not sure about giving "free" LP to get you to that sweet sweet 100. But you do raise a good point. If you win a game at 99LP and gain 26LP for example, 25 of that LP is lost to the void (or at least it seems like it because we don't see our LP anymore in promotion games).

Winning or losing your promos still doesn't feel great in regards to that extra 25LP.

I feel, if you win your promos, that extra LP should be added to your next bracket (ie start at 25LP rather than 0LP). If you lose, that 25LP can be added to your LP so you don't have to win ~2 games to get back into promos. Hell, if it's enough, why not just be put directly back into another promos? Win or lose, that extra 25LP is likely been spent.

TBH, I'd prefer they just do away with promos as they just feel frustrating for those trying to climb.

I think a way to make that situation feel better is that if you win and the amount of LP won makes your total > 105 LP then it should count as a win in your promo

Agree in a sense, but if they make that the case, won't 97 LP feel exactly the same?

That just moves the problem. Just feel free to dodge if you feel you lost in champ select; take advantage of that 99 LP.

Also, When you get promoted you start at 0 LP but when you get demoted you go back to 75 LP. UNFAIR!!!

There is no easy answer because as always said there's always a break point for each of these if they bumped 99-98 97 would feel horrible and so on in the 90s... and to answer the question the lp system is based off the elo system which is that the amount you gain is based off of the hidden number. So lets say for an example you were Gold 3 your elo i believe is like 1200 at the point? I could be wrong but the number is irrelevent. To get to Gold 2 you'd have to gain elo to get to said part is specified amount is given to get to said point. We will make this easy and say From Gold 3 to 2 is 100 elo so when your at 99 lp you haven't gained enough elo to climb into the next tier.
