I've been in various debates with high elo Janna players on either side of the debate on how to best build her, but unlike many supports, building AP is actually useful to her utility (in contrast to just making her hit harder), since it increases the size of her shields (and the AD it gives), gives her more movespeed/slow via her w, and more heals via her ult.
Given the fact it is debated and top Janna players do either, one can conclude that building straight utility stuff (probably overcapping cdr in the process) is not unviable. That said, building AP is also viable, so grabbing some AP items another option. (Some even stand by going pure AP [other than sightstone], so that could be an option too.)
Personally as a (currently plat) Janna main, my preferred build is
, sometimes swapping out zekes for
or
depending on the needs of the team and/or my faith in the adc. If the situation calls for both zekes and an aegis item, then I'll replace morellos, and probably give strong consideration to swapping out mobi boots for
. If the situation is such that I don't really want to build zekes (unimpressive adc) or an aegis item (enemy team lacks impactful magic damage), I'll grab
6th instead.
Ludens is much more attractive to me for the movespeed than deadmans might be, as I feel like if you're getting hit as janna, then somethings gone wrong in the first place, and so the armour/hp on deadmans is wasted. Ludens gives you a decent chunk of movespeed thats 'always on', plus a bunch of AP that's useful for above mentioned reasons, plus the echo passive which while not super impactful, isn't negligible either.
