just because your odd pick has an oppressive laning phase or whatever does not mean it's gonna be any help later in the game when the enemy team has like 3 tanks and we're stuck with a squishy comp because you wanted to win laning phase

Vesarixx1 votesNot the only example though, Morgana top can be pretty effective since she has great disengage with Q, can push easily with tormented soil, can avoid ganks with black shield and her ult brings a lot to team fights. Plus you can be the AP for your team or force the enemy team to build MR before going armor with a double AP comp, which gives your ADC a better mid game, and discourages tower dives.
I've been playing a bit of Sona mid recently as well, you lack waveclear so you're prone to getting pushed in and you're as squishy as Anivia but you have a long range targeted harass, heavy burst, lane sustain, a damage reduction and shield to survive all ins and speed boost plus a slow for escaping ganks, the ult is great defensively and for setting up ganks or securing kills, and once you get to team fights you scale up with allies due to the auras, and the ult can turn fights if you land it on multiple people or even just get a pick on a high priority target.

top with melees? lol just use your e to keep them away from you and whittle them down with true damage
mid? i mean yeah he's got counters mid, but once again, just use e defensively and you can probably win almost any matchup
jungle? i mean, it's by no means meta or strong, but i've seen it work. his ganks are decent
bottom? velkoz support is god tier and where he truly shines. harass any and every adc/supp out of lane with your superior range and angles, and secure kills your adc can't reach. level 6 with velkoz in botlane is a nightmare

Mistikal1 voteswell, to be fair, if you are successful at that champion, and do oppress your lane and the enemy has 3 tanks. Why wouldn't you just continue to split push and be oppressive? In doing so you either:
A: Push without the enemy team being able to respond to you and take everything. B: Draw 2-3 enemies to deal with you, which creates map pressure in other lanes.
You don't have to run a "traditional comp" to win, you just need to play around your strengths. Every game is different. Every game will have different winning and losing parameters. It's your job as the player to identify them each game and react according, I know right, thinking and brain use in strategy based video game. Crazy right?

Yes a weird pick might work, but you need to take into account the morale of your team when they see that odd pick and try to get them to understand why it works and reassure them that you aren't trolling.

I got accused of kill stealing despite MOST of my kills being from when no one was around me. Just wanna say : Odd picks work if you trust us. Most of us aren't trolls. Now if someone picks Soraka jungle then yes I'd be highly wary. But an assassin is an amazing support: a support is a strong top laner: an adc dominates mid lane especially high range/global ones. Etc. :D Trust players like me.
