Defense should never outscale damage

In the boards, you see posts about tanks being too weak and the occasional stupid 'oh no a fiora beat me in a 1v1' with them failing to understand that if them as a tank does not fall off, then tanks would be unkillable cc bots late game rather than midgame Tanks aren't useless and do need a form of counterplay. Rammus, Sion, Poppy, Sejuani, Maokai, Amumu and Zac are all doing fine. Very little tanks are actually bad besides shen. Tanks are in a fine spot right now and the circle jerk needs to stop.

Except that tanks can have MORE gold and fall "behind" with full builds before the enemy is even close to full build.

Oh look, you play 0 tanks, just like everyone else saying tanks are fine. Go figure.

Honestly there shouldn't be a clear cut scenario. It shouldn't be either defense > offense or offense > defense. If you pick Fiora then you absolutely should beat a tank late game, but in the same scenario, if you pick Pantheon you shouldn't beat a tank late game.

You are talking to people who think that an assassin that is 4-5 lvls ahead of everyone shouldn't destroy a squishy champion that is already behind and all on their own while having ZERO defences built. The circle jerk isn't stopping anytime soon

Defense should indeed never outscale damage, but tanks aren't doing particularly well right now either.

Except when the rammus has 750 armor and 350-500 Mr and then taunts your adc

Other than that tanks are pretty fine

You're completely right, defense shouldn't outscale damage.

But damage shouldn't outscale defense either.

They need to be in a state of balance.

If you want to deal reliably with Tanks, you should at least have to build one of the designated anti-Tank items, like item 3035 or item 3135
