why should Yasuo be allowed to get 100% with 2 items? you can't even get 100% with 3 crit items?

If crit is such a strong stat

Crit is an extremely mediocre stat by itself.

Due to it's complete lack of interaction with ability AD ratios, and it's lack of interaction with on-hit effects (while only benefiting from AD and AS steroids), it's weaker than AD, AS, and Armor Penetration in most circumstances.

The main thing that makes crit strong is that if you start with 100 AD and get 100 AD, you double your DPS from 100 to 200. If you get 100% AS, you double your DPS again from 200 to 400. If you get 50%+50 armor penetration, you double your DPS from effectively 400 to 800 (assuming 100 armor on your targets). If you get 66.67% Crit with IE's bonus: you double your DPS from 800 to 1600.

Crit isn't strong by itself, it's strong late-game with the full AA family.

Also: ranking up AD, AS, Crit, armor pen, life steal, and hurricane/hydra AoE together is always better than just going full-throttle after any 1 stat. 1x19=19 where 4x4x4x4x4=1024

Yasou having 100% crit with 200 AD isn't any different than Zed having 400 AD and 0% crit, there's nothing inherently broken about reaching the cap of crit chance. It's not like 100% dodge or 100% damage reduction where it's inherantly game-breaking, with IE's bonus the best crit is ever going to do is increase your DPS by 150%.

It's also entirely possible for a wide range of AD and %AS steroids to result in a larger %DPS increase than what Yasou's double crit passive is capable of providing.

Furthermore: Yasou being at 100% crit chance doesn't mean he's auto-attacking for double the damage of the next guy.

Firstly because Yasou needs purchase 50% crit chance to have 100%. Anyone else with the same build is going to have 50% crit. Secondly Yasou's passive reduces his total DPS by 10% when he critically strikes.

Without IE anyone else is doing 150% DPS with 50% crit and Yasou is pumping out 180% DPS with 50%(100%) crit. With IE everyone else is pumping out 175% DPS with 50% crit and Yasou is pumping out 225% DPS with 50%(100%) cirt.

225 is only a ~28.6% increase in overall DPS over 175, which means: best-case scinario, after purchasing 50% critical strike chance with Infinity Edge, Yasou's auto-attacks only hurt ~29% more than a champion with no auto-attack steroids to speak of.

Funny note here: More than half the champions in LoL actually have an auto-attack steroid. It's less common to find a tank, fighter, assassin, marksman, and support without an auto-attack steroid than one with an auto-attack steroid.

And yes: I did say support.

Janna , a champion well-known throughout the LoL community for having the DPS potential of a gentle breeze, has a 50 AD steroid tied to the first skill she maxes.

Yasou's double-crit steroid needs more than 178 AD to offer more DPS than Janna's shield.

item 3031 item 3087 +3.57 AD is needed for Yasou to out-DPS a support with the same build. Sure he eventually does that, but it is worth considering that the average game length is only ~33 minutes and sees ~11,000 gold per player, which works out to roughly 3 major 3 k items, 1k in boots, and 1k in the bank when someone's Nexus explodes.

Or Janna does more AA DPS than Yasou with the same build for 2/3rds of a game.

For melee supports there's also Taric with a +70 AD steroid and Alistar with a +90 AD steroid.

And outside of supports there's DrMundo 100-200 AD Mundo, Elise 140% AS Elise, or potential +300 AD, -40 armor Nasus.

Finally, as someone who played a lot of per-rework Fiora and was generally interested in the state of melee ADC's, a big problem with champions like Tryndamere MasterYi was that, rather than using their mobility to survive in team-fights and using their powerful auto-attacks to take down choice targets within the little time they had to do so: they used their auto-attack steroids to take down towers and their mobility to run away and split-push 24/7.

Towers cannot be critically struck, which makes a ton of sense for using that as the AA stat Yasou uses over something like AD or AS. His post-ultimate reward is bonus armor penetration, which also doesn't effect towers at all: and his backward mobility is pretty terrible with back-dooring. His ultimate mechanics also scale with the difficulty of team-fights and allow him to strike sooner with the right set-up, allowing him to be manageable in a 1v1 while still being good in a team-fight: where Tryndamere's team-fight survival skill makes him pretty mediocre in a team fight when used well, but extremely oppressive within a 1v1.

If crit is such a strong stat why should be allowed to get 100% with 2 items?

Because math and logic both say 100% crit chance can be completely balanced.

I see.

Because his crits do less damage on autoattacks, and even less on his Q. It does 90% of the normal crit damage on basic attacks and his Q does 75% of the normal crit damage. He's not critting you for the full 200/250% crit damage. Also I'd recommend item 3075 or item 3143 against him, its soooo effective.

because crit was nerfed on yasuo specifically so that he's able to.
