I have one concern with Ivern

And it involves bot lane.

From the looks of it, his passive means he won't need a clear. And that makes me fear for several junglers, because of one bad habit that top and mid laners have that might infect bot lane.

Bot lane might hug tower and not use their trinkets early.

This will make multi-member invasions seem tantalizing if the bot lane is just chilling at their tower. Why mid and top laners don't just drop their trinkets into the jungle entrance and then tower hug is beyond me (unless there's an enemy Blitzcrank?). But if bot lane does that, it's going to make Ivern players vulnerable.

Maybe muscle memory will play out and the bot laners will stay with him early anyway, but I'm worried it'll have a similar effect like with other champions (Soraka is one fine example, causing the occasional lazy ADC to stop dodging skillshots and expecting every hit to be patched up).

Why as a bot lane would you not want to chill with your jg and protect him at the beginning of the game?

Same reason mid and top laners don't ward jungle entrances and just head straight to their tower, I'm guessing? Even though those wards could give you a tip for a level 2 invasion, or the enemy jungler is about to steal your topside buff so you can correct your jungling route accordingly. But they don't consider that level of strategy, they just oftentimes sit at tower and waste that potential vision.

If Ivern doesn't need a leash, what's the point? is the mentality I'm worried about. An ADC that wants to head straight for the farm early. Supports I'm less worried about I suppose (especially Bard, who I feel like would be an excellent combo with this jungler) but the ADC might just not help until it's too late.

you dont ward jg entrances as a laner? or at least watch them, god i sit in the jg for the first 1;30 doesnt matter what lane i am in

No, I most definitely guard jungle. I just don't see... well, anyone other than the jungler and I doing it. I even do the alt ping on the map at the main four jungle entrances, but nobody ever seems to get the hint. One of the main reasons I quit being a jungle main and switched to support.

Might be my MMR, I guess?

I think people are just going to treat is as if you had a Shaco jungle, or anyone else who doesn't need a leash....though I feel that Ivern would be a much more scary person to be invaded as for jungler since I'm sure you cant use his "release" passive if you are in combat or I'm going to guess that attacking it probably stops the release progress.

As for being a laner and warding, I can some what see for Mid lane though since Mid lane is most likely the easiest lane to gank since there are 2 sides to gank from and maybe thats why they don't want to use a trinket for the jungler? Though personally, if my jungler doesn't need me to leash or if the jungler is starting to far from me to go leash, then I'll generally put a ward at their Red/Blue and then go back to lane.
