Runes for Noobs

Helloooooooooo

I'm a pre-30 noob, (think I'm level 27) and started buying runes. Only have the 2 pages, and want to do a generic AD and an AP page. Only problem, have no idea what to buy for the AP and the glyphs (?) for the AD page. I have bought a couple with a little bit of IP when they were on sale, and for AP it seems the MrPen runes are better than the actual AP ones.

Any suggestions on some AP and AD rune sets would be great :) I usually play support champions like Tahm and Janna, (after I buy my runes I'm gonna get Blitz or Morg) and when I don't get support I go mid with Lux (just bought her and she's so much fun :P) Annie, or Leblanc. Amumu is my back up for in the jungle and Nasus and Teemo are my backup top champs. If all that helps haha

Ideally do something like 9 ad marks, 9 armor seals. 9 Mr glyphs, then either 3 ad quints or add in an attack speed or too depending on who you play

For AP substitute marks for AP marks (or magic pen) and quints for AP

If you want to save IP...

Mpen marks Armor seals (flat) M.resist glyphs (flat) Ap quints (flat)

Ad marks (flat) Armor seals (flat) M.resist glyphs (flat) AD glyphs (flat)

These two pages will be perfectly viable for 90% of champ/role combos. Many mid mages opt for m. Resist glyphs because they have good value compared to flat ap. As for ad, you can swap out some quints for attack speed, but my thinking is tat while there are very few ad champs that don't benefit from attack speed, there are none that don't benefit from ad.

If you play more tanks/supports and few marksmen, swap the ad quints for armor and the armor seals for health (still all flat.) If you really wanna save IP, ad marks are a very decent pick on any champ - last hitting and aa poking are free and potent for any role (support last hit rarely/never but poke more, so it evens out).

A vood first page can be

Ad marks Health seals Magic resist glyphs Armor quints

This will be workable in every lane and position with almost every champ, and all those runes will be useful later. Added defense tends to be better for greener players imo. If you have no runes at all, grab that page and use it for everything. Buy ap quints for an easier time with mages or attack speed for adcs. Far from optimal but the best "universal" page, I think.

armor yellows (seals?) and MR blues (glyphs?)

they're fairly cheap and are fine for now and can slot into just about every single champion.

For your ap page, just get spell penetration marks. They're what you're going to want on most champs i believe (if im way off someone correct me i haven't played an ap champ in eons)

Hybrid penetration reds are good as well as they're very good on a select few champs and not that much worse off for pure ap champs, they're rather expensive

AP quintessences are fine for a starter page
