Jungle by the Numbers

This is a number comparison for the jungle, assuming you have a zero-sustain junger like Amumu. I thought I'd share it with you. The numbers assume you are level 1 and the jungle monster is lvl 1 as well, so first clear scenarios. I've assumed a 15 second clear time, amumu's armor value (32 with armor seals), Health Regen, Machete, Armor, and two points in the Tough Skin Mastery. It also assumes lesser creeps die around 2/3s of the way into the clear. Keep in mind that Amumu's base health is 613. Season 5: Damage Dealt over 15 Seconds @ lvl 1:

  1. Gromp: 498.3
  2. Wolves: 328.4
  3. Raptors: 1239
  4. Kruggs: 381.3
  5. Blue Buff: 313.8
  6. Red Buff: 450.2

Compare to Season 4: Damage Dealt over 15 Seconds @ lvl 1:

  1. Gromp: 467.8
  2. Wolves: 288.2
  3. Raptors: 404.1
  4. Kruggs: 378.7
  5. Blue Buff: 406.7
  6. Red Buff: 413.9

Increase in Damage Taken:

  1. Gromp: 30.5
  2. Wolves: 40.2
  3. Raptors: 834.9
  4. Kruggs: 2.6
  5. Blue Buff: -93
  6. Red Buff: 36.1

Of note is of course the Raptors, which deal a lot more damage now. Blue buff actually seems to do less, though the numbers are a little hard to come by for the sentinels. I used the same values as for the cinderlings. Kruggs does about the same damage as before. The unseen factor here is the lack of pots in season 5. In season 4, You could get away with a pot or even two per buff. Now you only start with two, and can essentially do only three camps before having to back as someone like amumu. Plus, it seems kind of silly to do three camps including a buff, back, then walk all the way back to a lane or the other buff camps when your first buff will probably have worn off. I do think the increased jungle gold in 4.21 will help with the pot situation (more pots you can buy on first back at least), but it doesn't solve the initial clear hardships.

Play Sion. He guarantees easy camp clears. ;)

But in all seriousness, this is very helpful information. Thanks for sharing!

Backing early isn't unique to Amumu. People seem to be struggling with this, but backing after just a few camps (and upgrading the machete) is the norm now. Champions who can stay in the jungle for an extended period are definitely the exception, not the rule.
