Why Nidalee players are so upset.

A lot of the community has seen Nidalee players as toxic type of people looking to destroy their games. This is so far from the truth though. I've seen spearbot nids in and against me and as annoying as they were they haven't been good for a LONG time, in fact spearbots have turned into the bane of ones own team, I've never seen them win games outside the blatant smurfs. People like her because she has a really cool design. For me what attracted me was her more complex kit. I come from RTS games and 4 spells wasn't cutting it for me. I felt if Riot gave me the opportunity to have champions where I could master more I should play those. There's a difference between nidalee players and people that decide to jump on and go full spear (who btw have a legit 100% loss rate to real nid mains)

Anyways since pre season 1 I've played her through all iterations, nerfs, and reworks. No matter what though Riot has always been adamant about the shining star of her kit "the spear" remaining that one thing that makes her stand out as unique, the sticking point. That was fine for a time but Riot has worked around it so many times that her kit just isn't the same as it used to be. With "hunt" she has a new shining star and sticking point (two puns for one). So why are we so pissed? Because we don't need or care about our stupid spear! It's in a literal sense our sticking point. We stick you then we pounce! Just nerf the damn thing and stop trashing nidalee, she's 48% win rate for a reason. Honestly riot real nids don't care about the damage output of our spears, we care about the hunt!

I only tried pushing out AP spear nid recently when you plopped us in the jungle. Honestly riot what the hell were you thinking with that one? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Peoples biggest gripe about nidalee was spears was them being thrown over walls and out of bushes. Why would you put us in the jungle without reworking spear damage?

So beyond my recent foray into the jungle I was really big on Frozen Mallet, she NEEDS the HP from it and the slow is great due to her lack of utility to her team otherwise. Now they nerf her hitpoints. She has a 48% win rate and they straight out chunk her HP away in a HUGE way. This is an intentional move to trash her all in the name of her "shining star, unique ability and sticking point the spear". They're still so adamant about it that they're willing to trash the champion to keep it. From a nidalee main Riot just trash the damn spear, not the champion ffs! Someone over there is keeping her as their pet and they wont let go, from a nidalee main I'm telling you LET GO. Let hunt be her new shining star, make her more playable to the community and kill the spear. Her theme as a champion attracts buyers to her skin we both know it just look. So why trash that income over want of a spear? Why trash a champion with this hunt mechanic you brought in for want of a spear?

For people afraid of changes making her into a dominant bruiser again in general (saw a lot of comments about how OP she was as a bruiser) you know who was at minimum on par with her in her peak bruiser days? and he hasn't changed a bit, the meta and items available have though.

To riot, make her spear a lower mana cost ability with a massive nerf to AP scaling, just LET IT GO, and ffs DROP this crap about HP and E nerfs. Right now her scaling is 40%-120% AP (200% damage increase to 300% base damage) leave her base damage numbers on it, but instead of the 40-120% ap scaling just make it 40-80% (100% increase for 200% of base damage) lower the mana cost from 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 to 50/55/60/65/70 so she can use it as more of a hunt utility and we can go from there making her a balanced champion. LET YOUR SPEARBOT GO instead of intentionally killing a champion already at 48% win rate!

For people concerned about her long range execute with hunt, freaking deal with it, have you even looked at assassin champions recently? Nid's not exactly a shining example of a "toxic assassin" in that regard, she's simply one of the few non assassin based champions that can still deal with the ridiculous mobility meta (assuming she doesn't ditch her entire team trying to close that gap) and unlike others she pays for it with 0 CC.

TL;DR We're pissed because instead of nerfing her spear that players complain about they're blatantly and intentionally throwing a champion with 48% win rate into the trash can because they can't be bothered anymore by taking her weakest point and sticking a knife into it to make sure she's unplayable. Will she still be played? Yes, by trolls and smurfs, and guess what? People will still be complaining when smurf nids are wrecking them with spears.
