Idea for Veigar Stun Change
It appears Riot is planning to alter
's stun, adding a delay after its cast. I feel this is much too large of a nerf to Veigar. If this change goes through, it is likely that you may never again hit an enemy with dark matter.
However, I do see where Riot is coming from here. A very large AoE stun with an instant cast does not feel good to play against. It leaves very little opportunity for counter play.
Here is my idea. What if we keep the extended range and new delay that Riot added, but tweaked a couple small things? What if after half the stun ring's duration, it emitted a pulse stunning all enemies inside (even if for only half of the ring's normal stun)? This would reward Veigar for hitting his now harder to land ability, and give him a greater impact in a teamfight if he has good placement and timing.
This creates a skill that is harder to use, allows for more counter play, yet is also more rewarding. The suggested change may also allow for him to maybe land a dark matter now and then, as long as he times it right with the stun pulse (though I also think they should lower its delay slightly also). If the stun would be too strong, perhaps a slow, or slow pulse could be added inside the stun ring instead?
I think that Riot will probably not leave Veigar how he currently is on live, even with community backlash, so I'm hoping this could be a possible compromise between both sides. What do you think? Could this be a viable change to Veigar?
