Hey, quick question about ranks, So i played 10 placement games and I got put in Silver 5, I am currently sitting at 0 LP and I have lost 2 ranked games after without demoting. I'm a bit scared to play ranked now because i'm afraid i'll demote, but i read something that said that i cant demote if im in the 5th division of a rank? is this true? can i play as many games as I want without demoting? thanks.
It used to be the case that you couldn't drop down from division 5, but now you can. Your mmr has to drop an entire tier though to get demoted at division 5 meaning if you're silver 5 you need to lose so many games that your mmr is bronze 5 level to get demoted to bronze 1. at every other division demotion depends on your current mmr in relation to where you are currently on the ladder but you drop once your mmr falls to the division below you (so you will drop from silver 3 to silver 4 if your mmr is silver 4 and you lose at or around silver 3 0 LP). demotion in this case isn't set at a certain number of losses at 0 lp but just depends on mmr which could be higher due to a previous win streak. I've been demoted after 1 loss at 0 LP and other times I've lost literally 6 games in a row at 0 LP and didn't get demoted.
