As a Lucian main of three years I truly do not know how to feel about Heartseeker Lucian

Don't get me wrong, the skin is really nice and the red suit jacket is dapper af, but I've always considered the heartseeker skins to be pushing a single-and-ready-to-mingle mentality, or at the very least to be flirtatious, (heartseeker ashe being a good example what with the whole already-married thing)

The thing is though that 98% of Lucian's current drive and motivation comes from his deceased wife. emphasis on the "deceased." yes, technically thresh still has her soul but you know what I mean.

It just feels wrong to give him a romance-themed skin when a lot of his character is centered around avenging his fallen lover.

Well in his recall, there's no one in the other chair. Maybe every Valentine's day he goes out dressed up and has a dinner date and imagines Senna in the empty chair.

Don't over analyze the character behind the skin - I think they are supposed to be detached, conceptually, from their "base" skin counterparts. The skin is literally some guy that looks and fights like Luc, but is not Luc. Kinda like a sexual, in this case, doppelganger.

Edit: While we are on the subject, it would be nice, for consistency's sake, if Riot made a greater effort to make male Heartseeker skins more analogous to the proverbial fucktoy theme championed throughout the female Heartseeker skins. Varus was a very good start to keeping this theme consistent.

It could be Lucian slowly losing his grips with reality.

I mean, all he does day in and day out is kill monsters, demons, nightmare fuel. Then consider the thought of your lover being endlessly tormented / tortured / held captive by a sadistic wraith (Thresh ) in which you have to lane with if he's your support.

Lucian with this skin tells me he's just bonkers. Not looney toons insane or crazy but rather, losing touch on what is sane and not knowing what seems abnormal (like having dinner with an empty seat and imagining Seena there). I kind of feel like Riot did a cruel joke on poor Lucian, and although the skin is slick & smooth, it feels more tragic than anything else.

I think you're looking too into it. Sure lucian is a grumpy, edgy man bent on avenging his dead(mostly) wife, the skin itself is unfitting for the champ but we had plenty of unfitting skins for champs before. Such as corporate mundo, we all know mundo(Currently) doesn't have the intelligence to run a company. Yet we have it. Same goes for Battle bunny riven, Noxus Poppy, Reaper Soraka, and Star Guardian Jinx.

On top of him being horribly out of the meta and receiving no love this preseason, this is a slap in the face. I don't play lucian, but I honestly kinda miss seeing the poor bastard.
