Mordekaiser is Too Much Slower than Other Juggernauts

Right now he crawls around at 325 MS, sharing the bracket with long range ADCs and mages. Only 3 other melee champs share this incredibly low MS: Nautilus, Blitz, and Mega Gnar, with Gragas following at a close 330. Given their high amounts of CC, I think it's clear why those champions should have to slowly bumble through the map.

Mordekaiser on the other hand has a situational MS buff, must auto his targets thrice to deal most of his damage, and needs to buy his own CC item 3116. Compare to the other champions in the "Juggernaut" class, which is defined by having high damage while being slow and kitable:

Mordekaiser: 325 MS Skarner: 335 MS Garen: 340 MS Darius: 340 MS Illaoi: 340 MS DrMundo : 345 MS Nasus: 350 MS

IMO if you want to play Mordekaiser right now, Stormraider's Surge is non-negotiable. You need it; you will not find as much success with any other keystone unless you are glued to a friendly Leona for the whole match. It would be cool if Morde had a reasonable amount of MS so that Stormraider's would be an option rather than a neccessity, and this silly discrepancy between Juggernaut speed wouldn't be so extreme. Why do I get the feeling that it's a direct result of his Duo lane balance? Riot is probably under the impression that his MS has to be comparable to other bot laners. (Anything less would prevent ADC's from kiting him, which should be a Juggernauts weakness.)

But if that what Riot thinks, then they should buff his strengths as a Juggernaut, and give him better defenses.

IMO they should give him 340 MS or change shield generation to 35% or buff his poor defensive stats or lower cooldowns to allow more shield generation or buff the base damage on his ult. Literally just ONE of the above. Because he's slow AND squishy currently and any one of those things could mitigate him being weak and slow at the same time.

most of all, he's to much squishyer than any other melee, 525 – 1766hp, thats just awfull even when you consider the shield, since you also have to consider his healthcosts. Just for comparison, Sona has 482 – 1791hp...

And then Darius builds swifties, Zz'rot, and Deadmans and runs around like he's fucking Yi.

Honestly Mordekaiser is a whole mess of problems, not the least of which is that he has garbage bast stats, on the other hand I understand why: his Iron Man passive sort of acts to counteract his lackluster base stats in theory. The problem is that, short of you facing an idiot that doesn't understand Mordekaiser's kit aka the new champion effect, in a practical scenario Mordekaiser will never be able to engage on a person without busting a summoner or some sort of item effect because he has no ability to engage beyond lumbering slowly towards an opponent, or hope someone ELSE can engage for him and he can try sprinting to catch up.

So Mordekaiser's passive is only as effective as Mordekaiser being able to use his abilities on a person, and without cc or mobility Mordekaiser basically has to answer instead of question the enemy laner. Literally, Mordekaiser's only hope is that he can push the wave so hard that he forces jungler attention, manage to survive being ganked, and keep his opponent from roaming... this is only really effective in the mid lane on assassins who often have horrible wave clear and want to roam and have trouble killing Mordekaiser in any case.

In top lane, all Mordekaiser can do is push like crazy and hope he can take tower despite the top laner, since many top laners can force a fight on their terms, or just dial a jungler to gank or mid to roam for a virtually free kill; his prominence in the mid lane prior to his rework was literally because he couldn't function in the top lane where he was originally intended. And in the bot lane, Mordekaiser is wholly dependent on his support to start a fight because he has the weaknesses of top lane exacerbated with the fact it's a 2v2, so he often needs the right support with more cc than someone honestly should bother having, such as Leona or Nautilus.

Honestly the only solution I can pitch is to make it so Mordekaiser doesn't need crowd control or mobility to win 1v1 even when he is always made to be engaged on, and survive into the mid and/or late game, and with the way the game is right now, the only feasible means of doing that is making Mordekaiser so monstrously tanky and damage-y that not even duelists like Trundle, Fiora, Xin or Jax or random champion #444 want to 1v1 him without the stars aligning. It's certainly not a good solution, it'd be better if Mordekaiser could simply answer an opponent better because he is almost certainly the one to be engaged on - and not the other way around - when a fight starts.

Agreed. Tried playing morde the other day and people with t1 boots were out running me with upgraded.

I doubt that they even want to look at him after they massacred him during and after the Juggernaughts patch. The only thing he is going to get is another rework. There is a reason why CertainlyT has vanished from the boards, and the public view in general.

Nasus is not a juggernaut though, nor is Skarner and Garen exactly. Bard
