You know turrets are bad when a mage can solo dive you under turret and not die. For lower Q the turrets should be more helpful to new/bad players especially when smurf accounts exist. I wonder if it would be possible to scale turret damage/health/radius depending on your ELO/MMR. Lower ELO/MMR would get more beneficial turrets.

Turrets are bad right now it's true, but an elo/mmr based scaling system is the worst idea i've ever heard of, not only would that seriously screw with overall champion balance, but lower elo players would take on even more bad habits then they already do. They'd effectively be playing a different gamemode. If anything there should just be a slight numbers change in the early game on tower damage. But a mmr based damage scaling system would only keep lower elo players from learning how to dive correctly and at the right times, as well as flip general balance and game pacing on it's head. Like i said, i agree with a buff on towers, especially in the first 15 minutes of the game, but what you're suggesting would be a disaster.

If turrents aren't 3 shotting someone prior to the 20 min mark, there's a problem.

scaling anything based on elo/mmr is a terrible idea because of possibilities for irregularities with the elo system and the fact that you're just making it harder to climb

If ANYTHING in the game should deal % true damage its the turrets!

Also, a little off topic, but the turrets have been acting kinda buggy in some of my games lately... I've drawn agro from Top lane, bottom fountain T1 from behind the stone crescent in front of it. In that same game I watched a Teemo at 2% hp disappear into fog of war with a second tower shot chasing him, and he DIDN'T die!

They REALLY need some attention.

If you got solo dived by a mage you were getting your ass kicked in lane. They are designed to be a crutch, not a cure.

I've always liked the idea of moving towers. They would roam up and down the lane, looking for Champions to devour, and sometimes giving chase. You could even lure enemy towers away from their lane to keep it clear for a while.

Although I do believe you should be able to dive turrets especially if you're coordinating well with your team, I don't believe you should be able to do so without the possibility of deadly consequences.

My idea would be for turrets to gain +50% attack speed when they are assisting an ally who has been damaged by an enemy. (Obviously this would not proc if you are not attacking an enemy under turret.) Also, when turrets hit a champion they apply a debuff for 5 seconds which increases turret damage on that champion by 50%. Subsequent attacks by a turret will add 1 stack and refresh the duration of the debuff.

The idea behind these changes would be that diving is ok, but you can't derp around inconsequentially. Tower dives would need to be swift and clean rather than having your support stand there getting blasted while your jungler or ADC remains unpunished.

I got dived by a full ap rakan once. He took about 5 tower shots and i also headshot him twice as cait and he walk away with a kill and about 30% hp still

Actually if the towers scaled with elo it should be more like better towers the higher elo you play at, because high elo players know how to perfectly abuse tower.

Well, scaling turrets with mmr is a horrible idea, but the turrets are garbage. Maybe they should have AD growth stat.
