It's time for a Nasus nerf

Fear the Kayn··13 votes·1,184 views

Its time for Riot to admit they overbuffed him a while back and remove the Q CDR on his ult already. He has a perma slow that is basically a stun for an ADC for 5 seconds, insane damage, and very little counterplay unless your high elo.

where exactly did you get your statistics from? because even as far as top goes, hes like rank 30 atm.

false statistic, relevant point

nasus is way too strong. i can't think of losing matchups right now as opposed to before his slew of buffs.

If you can't win micro plays vs him (and often you really just can't solo), then it's up to you to win the macro game against him, because that's often what he's going to try to push on you.

When you're not able to fight him any longer by yourself it's really not a good idea to try to deny him any farther because he'll grind you down into a fine paste if you let him do his thing.

So you nuke his team instead. If his team is weak it's far harder for him to put pressure in a map-wide context, and he'll have to prop up his weakened team instead, in an attempt to stop your team pushing faster than him. That'll leave him in a position for your team to deathball him, and clean up the rest of his team, that you were already rolling over, afterwards.

His strength really doesn't translate well as well to teamfighting as it does to splitpushing, unless he's allowed to flank. If he's forced to frontline you're often in a really good position.

Crippling him early will only buy you some time, unless you get someone so fed they can just ruin him each and every time; and if you spend too much time keeping him and him alone down, his team will probably get too strong for yours to deal with.

I suppose that shows just how little brainpower you’re working with.

Nasus is objectively not too strong at all. He's doing very well in low elo, okay in plat+, but past that his performance takes a big nosedive as teams get better on average, because solid team play heavily negates Nasus' strengths far more than solid team play for Nasus can negate his weaknesses.

No, Nasus isn't too strong. He's cancer. He has been cancer for as long as I can remember. There is not a single champion in the entire game whose power budget has such a significant surplus of damage, durability, and disabling power. Thanks to his infinitely scaling Q and the armour shred on his E his damage scales very well eventually. He builds full tank, has innate lifesteal, and his ult is a fantastic tank steroid, granting him both health and resistances, ensuring that unless he's laning against a Fiora or a Garen that has him marked as the villain he can mitigate anyone's damage. But it all comes down to wither. Wither is, undoubtedly, the single most debilitating single target slow in the game, if not the most debilitating single disable in the game. Powerful on its own, what makes it bonkers is that it has almost no downtime as Nasus levels up and accumulates CDR. Meaning that not only is there never really an opportunity to fight Nasus if he's not behind, but he is also nearly inescapable unless you're playing someone like Camille or maybe Tryndamere.

One on one, Nasus has no counterplay at all, nothing that can be played around. Without jungle assistance, a competent Nasus can almost always play safe and outscale you 1v1, pretty much no matter who you are playing, with the probable exception of Master Yi, being the only extremely high DPS champion who can outright ignore wither (Olaf can also ignore it but his DPS isn't even half of Yi's). That's why people hate him. Nasus gets to a point when it is pretty much impossible to lane 1v1 against him, and it happens faster than it probably should.

I really do think he needs a rework.

True nerf needed!!!

Why can't anyone ever build grevious wounds against him? It helps way more than people realize.

Fear the Kayn5 votes

It's not so much damaging him, but in solo queue its hard for people to effectively counter his stacking mechanic. If you don't end the game by a certain time, you auto lose.

Well then, it's just not riot's fault. People have to be willing to learn how to bully him, deny him, and straight up kill him. And not just do one of the three, but all of that. And they can't just push the lane, since that makes his farming easier.

My favourite champ for doing such a thing is Urgot. Wait for him to go in for a stack, then EW combo him and make him back off or die. An item 3123 early on applies more pain and less resistance from him.

Like you said, his damage will come eventually, just like every other carry in the game. What's important is to delay it so he's always at least 1 phase behind.

But nope. People don't want to give that effort. They'd rather blame riot and cry for a nerf instead of getting better.

Bully him better. Deny him farm. Deny him that sheen. Buy your sheen, just do something. Anything but let him farm. If you let him kill you so easily early on, then you failed miserably.

Kinda sucks because if you wanna bully nasus you have to shove the wave, and in this gank top at 2:30 meta shoving nasus is a death sentence once he levels wither.

Playing nasus presents the enemy laner with a catch 22: let nasus farm and get outscaled, or try to bully nasus and shove the wave, leaving you with a vulnerability to a cancerous gank by a double buff full HP jungler.

TheSandQrator1 votes

Even if you can't do that any more then just try to deathball his team and get a lead there instead.

When you start losing fights against him, they're not gonna start going your way very soon if nothing changes.

What a lot of people do is try to poke at him when they can't fight him, which he brushes off. And if they go in for an all-in they just end up dying in many of the cases.

So rather than risk dying they sit back and farm themselves, which is playing right into his hands. While you're sitting back there, you could instead be duo-ganking with your jungler, or deathballing bot lane. Sure, he'll probably get your tower, and some free stacks but you've equalised at least some of it instead of just hanging back hoping not to die until your jungler and midlaner come to help.

That's something I abuse when I play him, I hate taking my tower early because while it stands, the enemy laner feels obligated to try to protect it, when they're as effective as a siege minion at fighting me. But if it's gone and mine is still standing, they are much more likely to roam. So I keep them there as long as possible, and just deny them gold or occasionally kill them because they just can't make damage stick and if they all-in they likely die.

It's horrifically greedy if the first turret's not been taken already, but what's a 1/6 Riven gonna do to my team because she stayed top lane to scrape what farm got to the tower, instead of ganking others with the jungler and ending up 4/2?

'the counterplay to nasus is that there isn't any. focus on beating his other 4 teammates instead'

TheSandQrator1 votes

Individual counterplay? There's bugger-all unless you've hard CC with reasonable uptime, the ability to play keep-away a la Anivia's Ice Wall, you can burst him out before he can get to you, or you can kite him despite Wither. The same as most other juggernauts. Kiting is super effective against them.

But, he can sure as shit be brought down by multiple people pretty easily, contrary to what so many people whine about.

At least don't try to 1v1 someone who's strengths are huge objective damage and being pretty damn good at winning 1v1's if he can close the distance, and complaining that you're losing at it. You're playing to his strengths if you fight him mano a mano! It's like trying to manfight a Tryndamere!

THE RlVER KlNG3 votes

nasus doesn't win 1v1s by being skillful or at least crafty like a fiora or something. he just withers you and then mashes the q as fast as possible. there's nothing you can do against it.

? 'don't fight him in melee' is the weakest excuse for counterplay. what is 60% of the roster supposed to do?

and champs that require an entire team to defeat are awful design.

THE RlVER KlNG2 votes

what does this even mean.....you can't bully a nasus. he just waveclears with e and lifesteals poke. that's not counterplay anymore.

Have your own jungler come along. Ward so you avoid the gank and waste the jungler time. Basically, the obvious stuff.

Do ou play league of legends. Trying to get your jungler to do anything is like pulling teeth first of all. Second, even if your jg tents the lane he will just farm stacks under turret and will take pressure away from other lanes(namely bot).

Are you bronze? if you build exec in lane vs nasus he just presses R and Qs you into oblivion since you wasted 800 gold.

counterplay isn't related to rank. if the counter has enough counterplay at high elo, its okay. Game should be balanced around highelo no low elo.

But a point and clic CC Oo with him scaling so early. the current strat to win against nasus is... jungler help (unless u play camille...).
