I still stand by my opinion that she needs a rework to add depth to her gameplay for both counterplay issues and champion fantasy.

As for what has been helping her:

Frostfang+ base mana regen buffs heleped her not go oom in lane as fast as she used to. Eye of the watchers frees up a slot that I hated using on just frostfang. Sheen costing less and Lich Bane having CDR helps her ap support build as well.

Windspeaker's Blessing +Runic Armor helps both her Support and AP Support bulids; Windspeaker helps Mikaels and Locket's actives as well I believe.

There's also the other option of a Keystone mastery. You can use Stormraider's Surge to go in with Crescendo, powerchord, and quickly get out, though you'll lose out on some healing since you can't get Windspeaker's.

The problem with that logic is, these are masteries and items, NOT Sona changes. The truth of the matter is that they help stronger supports like Nami and Bard for example far more than they do Sona. Since these changes are multiplicative as opposed to additive like our current system is, pre-season will factually make Sona even weaker than she already is, which admittedly doesn't say much when we're already referring to the weakest champion in the game.

Bottom line: I agree with you on the matter that she needs a rework to become playable again. I'm not opposed to adding more depth and agree with you on the fact that she has WAY too much counterplay in the current existence. Anyone that knows how to right-click on her instantly wins lane.

I'm very hesitant to admit Frostfang will finally be playable again. Ironically though, Rito in the end STILL refused to fix its shitty gold-gen and the only thing that'll justify buying it will be the increased mana regen, as you've already mentioned.

I sincerely can't wait for the goldgen ward items to be in the main game. No longer will supports have to give up TWO item slots for crappy items!
