I'm honestly curious, someone explain this to me.

What's happening to people in the 20 seconds they queue for a league game. It must be something life changing, to decide to queue for a game, get in a matchmaking champion select and then dodge after 75 seconds. It's even more incredible that this has happened the past 7 games I've queued for, now making my total queue time so far close to 10 minutes.

Yes kid, things happen in real life.

Then don't queue for a league game.

Unexpected and sudden things happen in real life. You’ll understand once you have responsibilities

Things happen, but it's very unlikely for it to happen 7 times in a row. And if you were actually serious about your responsibilities you wouldn't even bother queuing up within about 30 minutes of something you know you either need to or may need to do. More than likely someone got into a lobby and saw a pick or ban they didn't like, and decided to dodge. No need to be so condescending, the OP is just frustrated with being unable to get into a game.

You're right.

It happened 1 time in a row to 7 different people.

Once you dodge you’re out on a queue dodge timer beginning with at least 5 minutes. It’s not like it’s the same person dodging.

I realize that. But it's still pretty unlikely for OP to get matched with 7 different people in a row who all felt the need to dodge the queue, especially for reasons unrelated to the lobby. I knew what I was saying. You guys are focusing on the most minor part of my point, lmao.

I encounter this in normal games where people do dodge a multitude of times or where players don't even accept the ready check when searching for a match.

Nonsense. Genuine emergencies happen, true. But in most cases its just irresponsible people doing irresponsible things which just inconveniences everyone else.

Kid threw down the glass of juice?: How about you be a responsible adult and not play LOL while supervising a child.

Need to run to the grocer?: How about you be more organized with your shopping stock so you don't have to run to make so many unscheduled runs.

If you find these little "emergencies" popping up in your life, forcing you to dodge queues (or feel flustered), it's not because you are all grown up and have responsibilities. No, its because you are most likely disorganized and irresponsible and refuse to acknowledge your flaws so you never do better.

Lol buddy. If you live in a house with others or have a spouse, kid, or SO, or maintain a social circle, there is literally never a time when you’re not answering to someone. I’ll maintain playing and dodge -if I need to- for people in real life who demand my attention. Sorry if that inconveniences you. Sorry not sorry 😘

I'm sure you aren't lol.

The "distraction causing variables" are still insufficient to warrant constant dodging. Again, it seems that you simply lack organization/ control over your time and life.

I schedule my time to the minute as I have a full schedule and I teach my kids to do the same. Yet, here I am, responding to you on LOL boards.

All I am saying is that it can be done with effort. You don't HAVE to inconvenience people on LOL when interacting with them. You are basically wasting everyone's time because you can't organize yours.

Then again you have stated that you don't care, there is nothing anyone can do about that so I guess there is nothing else to talk about. I'll just eat the wasted minute. You're welcome.

Why are you making this so personal? You don’t even know me, or how often I play, or my dodging/afk frequency.

This is a game, teamgame or not, it will always come secondary to real life people and real life events. And you can plan and organize as best you can, but if you’re willing to throw a fit because there’s been a few queue dodges or an afk in a game, what you need to do is check your privilege because not everyone is afforded the luxury of boxing themselves off from the world to grind out a pile of games of league.

Switching gears huh...

I am not taking this personally (I don't play that often, but I like to remain updated on my hobbies), far from it actually.

To clarify, my issue is not with you, as an individual, rather it's with the behavior which you support. OP expressed frustration at the constant dodging, which is understandable, the man's time is being wasted. You entered and condescendingly implied that he was a child with no responsibilities and that he would understand when he grew up.

I called you out on your BS and now you're upset? Tsk.

Regardless, my argument still stands. Habitually dodging queues doesn't mean one is "busy", "mature" or "has friends/family who demands one's every minute". It simply means that one is irresponsible with poor time management skills and apparently inconsiderate as well.

Well it’s funny you earlier mentioning forgetting groceries because that is entirely why I left the last game ...that I left. This was a few weeks back and I was all nicely tucked up, playing Xerath mid (very fun -I never get to play him) and about 10 minutes in I realize I had forgotten to get milk. So I left.

But it was all worth it though. For delicious milk. 3.25 % because I support homo.

And yes I’m tired of arguing.

That’s pretty disciplined. How many minutes does it take to make your minute-to-minute schedule? And do you allocate those minutes at the beginning or end of each scheduling period?

How many minutes did this discussion take you?

Outlook gets the job done in a few minutes to save a whole lot of stress. My family has full reign to my schedule so they know precisely when I'll be near home/school/ at the office/on my farm. This makes it easy to have a surprise subway lunch with my kids as outlook will just send a reminder: "Dad you'll be here, let's do subway!!!!>:DD" or we just figure out when I get home. Point is technology makes this sht easy.

This discussion? I dunno, I take periodic breaks.

Also that’s very cute.

The real life portion has already been touched on so in addition.

Ranked LP Some view dodging as a strategy for a variety of reasons. -LP loss will be less then if I lose. (assuming their team will do poorly.) -MMR wont be affected and at 0 lp. and more along these lines.

Trolls Also it's quite possible a troll can be easily identified on the team. Such as a Jungle Soraka with exhaust and clarity, or someone that blatantly says "you guys deserve this loss." If one person dodges the troll remains in queue. You could be on the other team and are just getting the end result of his toxic behavior unwittingly. After a few dodges he may change his mind or leave or you may get into another lobby without him.

Jerks People like to just be mean sometimes.

These are some reasons that in combination can result in longer queues simply because they are happening and you cannot tell since they could be happening on the other side of the lobby. My record is 48 min of dodges. Woot! Watched a ton of DBZA.

I don’t speak for anyone other than myself. I’m not much on dodging, but OP makes snide comments about life changing events forcing you to leave a queue, well yes, those do happen. Lol

TheUrbanKitsune1 votes

The comments came across more satirical than snide to me, and while things out of our control do happen, IT'S HIGHLY UNLIKELY 7 different people IN A ROW all had some sort of emergency that caused them to need to leave. And your first response to this was to call OP a kid, because unlike you of course, they could not possibly understand what it's like to have responsibilities.
