Granted, people are always going to run an adc somewhere in their team for objective control, but if people choose to give Morde a shot in the bot lane they might just send the adc top or mid (depending on where the specific one can function).

I mean, damn. The dragon curse alone is enough incentive for me to give it a shot. And the fact that Morde in an even lane will practically be guaranteed to hit 6 before his lane opponents in a duo bot lane.

Will the adc+support bot lane remain strong in the face of adversity, or will there other classes of champions soon traversing the lane of bot?

As a long time Mord player I am a little upset about the w change, I like that his general pattern didn't change much but I dont think that removing his w from solo lanes is a good thing.

I also don't see mord functioning well in a duo lane, he can just get harassed and poked out and his main weakness to CC is kind of exacerbated in that lane but time will tell I suppose.

My guess is people will just stop leveling w and take mord mid lane and jungles will stop by for free exp there more often.

He will also get kit changes, so you could wait for those.

If he's strong enough to solo lane, he will be strong enough to duo. He would get poked by ranged midlaners and ADC's alike, but if he can survive mid lane, he most certainly would be able to handle bot lane, where he will have an XP advantage.

I would be more scared to imagine him on ARAM. if he got full XP from minion farm, in a lane shared by 4 others.

I've played against one as LeBlanc and she fucked up my mid-lane. I could only pick up a kill on her with help from my jungler but she vastly outfarmed me.

While I admire Riot trying to overcome the marksman/support bot lane meta, I don't think Morde was the best choice to try and break it with. Their heart is in the right place though, so I hope they continue to work more non-marksman non-support champs to be viable duo laners.

The idea of "last-hitting gets him full xp, while his lane partner gets the half xp share as usual" seems like it could be tied to a laning item, but only for melees?

I'm not sure, but the mechanic itself might be worth looking into.

They took the concept of kill lane and tried to apply it to an immobile melee mage.

I can see at least one problem here.

You get a fucking dragon as a pet. Or the Blue golem. Or the SCUTTLER! Imagine walking around with the scuttler following you, tanking turret hits and taunting everyone. Also you would have some pretty awesome poke if you helped your jungler at gromp. Even if it only lasts 30 seconds, that poke will be insane.
