Is J4 weak or just hard to play or what? Whats his deal?

I never see him played and I just played him. He seemed fun and pretty strong. Why isn't he ever seen?

He seems pretty strong to me. Maybe people find him boring?

How he is boring? Most fun champions tend to be mobile and have fantastic early game power, and J4 has both.

I did better late game because I went Maw>Merc>Full MR against some Lux's in OFA. I really didn't have an early game, but he is better early game you say?

Do you know if I should be fighting them at lv 3 or lv 6 or lv 2 or what? And does he have a core like Liandry's Torment for Swain, Brand, etc.

I asked a few people because I personally find the Demacian Dunkmaster pretty entertaining, and the general consensus was "he's boring" coming from a bunch of Fizz and Zed mains.

No joke.

Sorta the same situation Jayce is in

If you build him full damage, he gets one shotted

If you build him full tank, he does no damage, while providing mediocre utility

if you build him as a bruiser, he is underwhelming

The problem with J4, is that just like Jayce, their is no optimal build path, the numbers on his stats need to be tweeked.

Super easy to predict his combo. Like step to the left or right and you're good to go.

I think its because he isn't easy yet powerful to play.

J4 has to be enough of a balance of damage and tanky to be a threat. A J4 that is pure tank will be ignored after his flag dash+ult combo, and one that has too much damage will just be bursted once he is trapped in his own ult.

Also I lost count of how many times I have seen J4 not be too useful. If he doesn't get the flag dash knockup combo on people that are actually useful, that is majority of his usefulness gone already. IT also doesn't help that his ult actually screws his own team over as well since most times other than J4 himself, his target and ADCs are the only ones that can target who is trapped, melee get screwed since they can't really help kill the trapped target.

He is insanely powerful if played right but there is a lot that can go wrong playing J4. He is no different than Lee Sin, most get fed easily in games, but since they are usually greedy and fairly worthless lategame that they 95% of games they are in will cause their own team's loss since he has all their gold and don't go tanky like smart Lee Sins do.

This all makes sense, especially after looking at his kit alot. His flag dash knockup can be sidestepped and full tank doesn't prove as much CC as other tanks and full damage usually isn't bursty enough (like full damage Pantheon lategame).

Buffs might break him, but It would be cool (sense he is a leader and even says "Stand with me brothers and sisters") that his W gives a shield to allies too. Or maybe if he can exit his ult through a E>Q combo?
