Is Darius's Pull Broken?

I keep seeing ridiculous range on his pulls, is it lag or does the skill shot length lie?

Honestly, nearly all champions have SOME sort of disparity between their actual hitboxes and animations. Latency is a factor of course, especially if you're skipping rather than just slow. Darius is a pretty big offender though. I don't even play him that much, and I've seen crazy pulls, and pulls that should've landed and didn't.

Darius' E range is 550 last I checked, inclusive of the outer edge of his axe.

its 540 units under the Teemo Q harass but over his auto range...

Something to remember when a Darius is nearby with an E. The ability has two visuals you should look for. The Weapon going out, and the Weapon coming back. When the Ability activates and you are in the cone when it goes out... You have been apprehended(DON'T FLASH). Then the weapon returns to the player pulling all players to him. Now you may flash to your heart's content.

It's only broken in the sense that it can pull you back even after you blink/flash out of it (similar to how volibear throw used to work before they fixed it).

well if you think about it technically the axe hooks them before they use their magic, in that assumed 1 second of focus (in real time league universe) so they would still be pulled to a certain degree

I can only estimate what you are referring to but this is the answer to my best guess as to what you mean.

Darius' pull checks when it is cast whether or not it hit the target, not when the animation pull occurs. This might be what you are asking; it's why a champion who dashes away during his pull, is seemingly pulled from a long distance. (keep in mind there are other abilities are coded like this, it's just more noticeable here...also because it's Darius)
