Does anyone like games that are decided early on and a short stomps?

I'd rather have a close 30 minute game then a 20 minute stomp. I wish Riot wouldn't encourage this snowbally pattern.

Play DotA 2 if you think LoL is snowbally. Riot actually has worked hard over the years to make the game allow turnarounds.

Just one example: inhibitors respawn. In DotA 2, they do not.

Damn. That would suck.

Dota also has a "buy back" option which helps.

They don't. They've been making (very small) changes over the years that reduce the impact of the very early game and make it more possible to recover.

They've also created changes to make games faster.

Wasn't it a STATED goal of Season 6 to make games #1 shorter and #2 make it easier to push an advantage (ie. snowball)? The second goal was mainly just to be in service to the first, but I thought many changes this season were EXPLICITLY for that purpose, just to name a few: -weaker towers -minions gaining strength when your team is stronger

Presumably the mastery changes too, but that's just a guess.

Minions gathering strength also gives the team getting pushed more gold. It's easier to farm without going so far out of the base. I don't think that feature is entirely "easier to push an advantage".

While pubstomps aren't much fun, I'd argue that faster games are enjoyable. Having seen the old Season 1 League of Tanks matches, where it would go on for over an hour and mostly involved someone walking around with Oracles and destroying 30 or so wards before moving an inch outside of their safe zone, I much prefer the direction League has taken.

And they have made it possible to counter-snowball. Not easy, obviously, but it's a doable thing in League. If your team can hold on until they catch up, or until a certain teammate hits their spike, and then they pull off a good team fight, they've earned a chance (sometimes a win, if it's late enough in the game). While I haven't played a plethora of MOBAs, League feels pretty flexible on comebacks, without being super-swingy (like in HotS, where the winning team is decided by who took which objectives when).

I feel like games are close and then 1 or 2 players lack positioning late game and get caught a number of times until the enemy team slowly takes our structures as we struggle to defend with 2-4 people vs their 5. I also feel a huge inconsistency of skill at plat this year compared to last. Last year it felt like the better team won after a few solid team fights, now it's more so which team has bigger derps and will get caught later when death timers are high.

I think the last time Riot posted numbers, they said average game length was like 32 minutes. Not sure exactly, but it was shortly after preseason. (They said that average game length had gone down by 2 minutes, but was still somewhere around 30 minutes.)

id prefer no stomps cuz then 5 minutes in, teammates just stay in base.

Umm, I don't know who you play with but teammates rarely afk for me.. even when getting stomped.

If we are then its usually because theres been an afk and well we would've got stomped regardless.

But 100-0 burst damage is fuuuuuuuuun [slayer-jinx-unamused]

I don't know why but I prefer stomps.

Whether its being stomped or stomping the enemy team. That's my preference. :|

I hate it when games drag out to be uncessarily long and then it comes down to which team performs better in fights and focuses the correct objectives. Which is incredibly team focused and thus can become very frustrating when trying to consitantly solo carry.

But you should seriously stop complaining because for the last 3 seasons Riot have been making it harder to solo carry and stopping these stomps from happening and making the games much closer.

If anything I should be complaining because I hate the direction there going in making the game more team reliant/focused. Sure its a team-game but individual skill should still show if you can perform that much better in a single game.

But whatever, to each his own right. But I personally like owning the game and being able to dictate the flow of a game, Riot only makes that harder and harder with every patch with small things like exp changes, gold flow, less punishing losses when dying early, increasing the exp range to make denying exp harder. There is a countless list of things that they have done to make this game harder to end games and MUCH less snowbally.

Removal of DFG because it was an item designed to snowball harder. It just increased your burst flat out and made snowballing quite easy. Removal of that item makes snowballing on certain AP assassins that much harder. No?

Anyways I have not been at the game for that long and I bet theirs an insane list of countless other things they've done as well to stop this "snowball" effect that you dislike.

Games tend to get longer as you climb in rank. In plat 3+ My games have been 27-41 minutes long. It depends on a variety of factors, like comps and early game dominant champs. Also how good players are at using their advantages. I wouldn't say games tend to always be stomps. This past week I've came back from games where my team started off 0-10. It really depends on your knowladge of your champion, if you know how to play from behind, and if you know how to press your advantages.

To be fair, the snowballing problem is getting better. I remember when every game was decided at 20 min, now it feels like games actually end at the fall of a nexus.
