I'm serious, I'm just awful with tele. So much so that I do t have the confidence to take it as a summoner spell because I just dont seem to utilize it very well and it feels wasted. Any advice? Maybe a teleport use cliff notes?

I use teleport for three purposes. 1). During the early game, before taking down an enemy outer turret, I usually need manna and will back two or three times until I've bought the tools to clear that champion problem. So I use teleport to quickly return to my outer turret and get back to farming and applying pressure to the enemy team that they might not feel inclined to roam. The trick is to to try to time the backs so that teleport is off cool-down.

2). Emergency situations, where a minion wave or enemy assault is eminent against one of our turrets. If there's insufficient defense to fend off the opposition, I'll pop over there and defend or assist as needed.

3). End game, when we are pounding the enemy base it is a quick return to combat that allows you to spend your money on items and get back into the action. Place a ward to teleport back to.

IMO, in early game, you have to use tp to get back to lane if you have recalled especially if they r in lane, but u r not. However, if you are winning your lane and your allies on the other side of the map are havin trouble, by all means use it. Teleport is a flexible spell. You can use it to split push, save your allies, surprise and enemies and many things more. It's your choice, but think about what your team needs right now. If you are behind in turrets and one on the enemy is almost done, by all means, tp to it. However, if your team is losing a teamfight, dont tp to the turret, but save your team. All in all, just use it in a productive way that allows you to reap benefits.

When you are deciding to TP somewhere, try and look at the situation as if you are already there but will be stunned for 3.5 seconds. Will you even be able to make a difference? Will you be in a bad position so your enemies will just turn on you. Will they be too far away that you won't be able to contribute? Will they be dead already? Will your allies be dead already, and if so will you be able to clean up?

Ultimately it comes down to situation awareness, map awareness, and communication with your team. If TP is up, ask if bot wants you to TP in.

I think my biggest problem with it is I get to the end of a game an realize I've used it once and I feel like I've so underutilized it that I've wasted a summoners slot by using it. Most other summoners are on demand type use. Going for a kill? Ignite is used. Getting ganged or all inned? Heal/cleanse/exhaust gets used. Tele, for me, has a much higher need for decision making.
