Cleanse doesnt work against Malzahar?
So....why not? I don't see why his ult shouldn't be able to be cleansed, can you guys?

Its because of the power of his CC when he ults you. Which is a Suppresion.
Suppression
Will interrupt channeled abilities.
The duration is not affected by crowd control reduction.
The effect can be removed only by using Quicksilver Sash or Mercurial Scimitar active ( is not an option since Suppression prevents summoner spell use).
Champions with Suppression: , , , , .
No special visual effect.
Certain CC's are, for a lack of better word, ranked higher than others. Similar to how you can still auto/cast abilities during a snare but not a stun, and you can still move during a slow but not a snare (even if the slow is 99%). Suppression is ranked pretty high - the only thing higher is a knockup/knockback. So you cant cleanse a suppression, but you can QSS it. You can neither cleanse nor QSS a knockup or knockback.
For some reason, cleanse isn't that great. I feel it is false advertising too.
Suppression prevents summoner spell use.
Have to use QSS
Because cleanse doesnt work on suppressions like
ult and
W, only
literally the point of a suppression is that you can't cleanse it
only thing that makes it not completely worse than just a stun
Suppression=an ability with no counterplay. But everyone says Malzahar is a healthy champ because "no mobility".
Its to make it so you can't counter a champion right at the beginning of the game (although Ignite can do that, but whatever). You at least need to buy QSS for that. I can see their reasoning for it but, again, Ignite can counter champions right off the bat.
We have to blame Riot for their good-for-nothing in-game descriptions here.
Cleanse is basically self-active version of Mikael's Crucible*, which reads "Removes all stuns, roots, taunts, fears, silences and slows".
Side note, it also removes Blinds, unlike Mikael's.
