I wanted to ask the community & Galio Mains some questions.

How did you guys feel about Galio before patch 7.21 (the one where he started building Damage over Defense)?

Was he better back then than he is now? If so, would you rather have that Galio over the one we have now?

Oh, Galio was never intended to be a tanky champion. So that's why he was damage-buffed and defense-nerfed. He's a mix between a diver and a battlemage; so he can soak damage while taking out massive threats and still walk out alive.

None.

I rather have pre-rework Galio back. The actual anti-mage gargoyle.

Not this white trashed "guardian" that has no identity.

I liked Galio the best on live release, but he was busted. His changes in 7.11 where honestly pretty well intentioned but REALLY poorly thought out. Like, MEGA dumb. It was one of the few things to actually wound my trust in Riot games in a long term sense. Like that shit was SO RETAR- let me stop.

But after the hotfixes and nerfs he was better, but in terms of balance/gameplay health I actually thing he ended up worse.

Honestly I’m REALLY optimistic for these upcoming changes though.

  • The Q’s scaling is finally getting reduced (thank god) and in exchange the mana’s FINALLY going down (THANK GOD).
  • I’m glad his waveclear is getting hit in his E too since it was always too powerful.
  • And finally, the Ult nerf, the damage reduction being taken out is actually a good thing, since his Ult had too many strengths. Free TP, AOE CC, AOE magic damage, and damage reduction. It was Shen Ult+Pantheon Ult in one, and that is not ok. I do hope they’ll lower its cooldown now that it doesn’t give Damagre reduction though, since it is less powerful overall.
