For League to be truly skillfully competitive & healthy for everyone, RNG would need to go.

You are correct. You have earned an upvote because this is a true statement.

False.

RNG, when used correctly, creates situations for players to interact with. It weeds out players who cannot quickly adapt and offers a new way to master the game outside of mechanics and knowledge. This form of RNG promotes a healthy and competitive game environment.

When used incorrectly it allows for worse players to beat better players. This is the type of RNG that should be minimized, however a game can have healthy and competitive gameplay with a small amount of it, if it does not impact the game too heavily.

Fuck no. If a Zoe picks up Teleport in lane am I supposed to just deal with it? If the enemy carry crits. every auto while I don't get a single crit. with the same build is that really an outplay?

RNG is awful, and this is coming from a guy that almost made Legend in Hearthstone. It seriously makes you want to shoot yourself in the foot when you're on the receiving end of it.

You understand while redniwedi5 seems to lack true understanding of what a competitive game would be like.

Did you actually read my post? It doesn't seem like you did.

I did read your post, and I disagree with it. Sure, you can adapt to RNG, but honestly it's just a bullshit factor that punishes good players for getting unlucky.

Poker works since everyone has the same odds of each outcome happening, there aren't multiple characters with different effects. Additionally, not every champion in LoL has RNG, thereby making the existence of RNG flawed since these said champs have no RNG to respond with. If every champ had RNG elements in this game it would be semi-balanced, however that's clearly not the case.

As such, RNG has no place in LoL, especially not in the form of Zoe who breaks the game's rules with her W.

I'm not sure you understood me then. Crit is a bad type of RNG that is just random spikes of power. Zoe also has random spikes of power.

Stuff like the elemental dragons has RNG when deciding which dragon will be next, and depending on which dragon is there teams will either fight for it or leave it be for a while. This is the good type of RNG.

So far every single point made by everyone involved is about Crit and Zoe only, and completely ignores the rest of League's RNG. I'm going to go ahead and guess that people are just upset about Crit and Zoe more than they are about RNG, and they are simply using RNG as a term to focus on.

Śhunpo1 votes

No. Because there are some outcomes with Zoe that I'm perfectly fine with, and some which I utter despise facing. That is RNG in a nutshell.

As for Elemental Dragons I agree, they're also RNG. I actually have some disdain towards them as well, however, you can actually play around them. So yes, this is a good type of RNG, even though it is entirely RNG based.

We focus on Crit. and Zoe because they are examples of AWFUL RNG. In-combat RNG is easily THE worst kind since it undermines player skill due to pure chance being thrown into the equation. We're specifically upset about Zoe because her kind of RNG can and does break her, the laning experience against her and the game in general. If she picks up a TP past level, backs and uses it she effectively got an item powerspike early, simply by getting lucky. Additionally, Kleptomancy works in a similar way, and is extremely unhealthy (I just wanted to bring Klepto. up as well).

But you wouldn't be wrong in saying that we are upset about Crit. and Zoe, because we are, it's just the fact that their RNG is not healthy for the game.

I completely agree.

Say two different characters with the exact same critical chance items start simply auto attacking each other, one would not crit, while the other would crit three times in a row, would you call that the 2nd player a godly player? Would that excite you? Would you really respect that player for being skillful?

RNG needs to go, as long as ADC's are viable, bruisers will not be viable, because for the ADC's to function they only need to learn the art of right clicking & kiting to nuke players with abnormal damage each and every second.

Did you read my post? Crit falls under the type of RNG that is being used incorrectly.

My bad.

if there was exactly no rng involved then the game would become the most bland thing ever because a majority of players are meta sheep that do the same things over and over again

False, the game is pretty bland right now and everyone knows it while following the Meta to climb higher.
