I have positive proof that Riot will screw over people with good win rates in ranked.

So this season I was going to change how I did ranked. I was going to play smarter and better, even looked up how to know when to dodge if a game if you end up with a bad team comp or a teammate who you think will drag your team down. I had worked like crazy to get a 66.5% win rate through 56 games, and then Riot decides to start screwing me over with teammates that will lose games. In the last 15 games I have gone 2-13, NO MATTER WHAT I DO I GET SOME FEEDER!!!! I lost 10 of those in a row, no matter what I did. There were also games in there that I lost but I can only think of three. I did have an mmr of plat 5 while in gold 3 but that is ruined now.

So now I have learned that Riot wants to forcibly keep players down if they start doing good and will pair them with teams that have a very good chance of losing.

Okay, so just to be clear, your "proof" is effectively interchangeable with the gut feeling of a player on a losing streak?

2-14 now. This is not some losing streak, this is deliberate to bring my win rate down. That many losses in a row after getting so many wins over .500 doesn't just happen by accident.

The thing is - as much as people deny this - the problem isn't match making but nmr and rank being separate.

I had plat 5 mmr in gold 5 last season. I went on a similar huge losing streaks. I'd go even in Lane with a better scaling champion as a gold 5 against a plat 3-5 while my gold 2-plat 3 teammates would ALL lose their lanes to gold 2-plat 5 opponents.

I was the lowest rank on my team against the highest rank in the enemy team every game, and yet i consistently did not lose Lane and all my allies consistently did.

I don't think it's Riot keeping us down intentionally. I think it's an unintentional side effect of mmr. I believe matchmaking accurately puts people at similar mmr together, but when your mmr significantly exceeds your rank it may offset this with players whose mmr is below their rank in your team. Same mmr, but your allies are a Tier in rank up. Thing is, this means they're MUCH WORSE players. You're climbing, you're winning, you weren't as good before but you know what you're doing now. They're falling, they're losing, whether they were better before or just boosted, they suck now and can't play in this league. So you get them while the enemy team is pretty balanced.

Then the worst part is that you can't win and get promoted to where you belong because of it.

Even if it's just chance, the fact that it can happen sucks. There's no reason for it to take so long for rank to start leaping when mmr gets too high. You should skip a division whenever you win a promo series and your mmr exceeds the level at the division you would be placed in. You shouldn't need to be like 5 divisions up to skip, 2 is more than enough...

The matchmaker is fairly random, there isn't any human input on how teams are formed. Additionally, it's still in a fairly holiday season, which means all of December most players haven't had time to play and those that do are in lesser quantity - this is most likely why autofill has been enacted this month - and so the matchmaking has less variety to pick from at this time of year. What this means is that if the higher skill players are all off on holiday at grandma's, you're left with others who may not be as skilled or who are trying to up their game, which can combine into poorer win rates. On top of that, if your attitude is that "everyone feeds and makes me lose," then odds are you aren't being a very good team player and being haughty and condescending to your team mates, which can erode morale if you continue to disrespect them or treat them as no-skill noobs.

How about this instead: All the 11 year olds that don't care enough to win are spamming ranked on christmas vaction.

Yeah I had 3 games last night I swear my teams wanted to lose lol... even if we were way ahead they just lost all brain cells and eventually we lost [2/3] and they refused to listen to any pings I gave them. it's kind of my own fault, in someway. I mean I'm a plat player stuck with bronze and silvers this year lol.

It balances you out. So you did some research and climbed quickly with your improved game knowledge. That'll get you pretty far but you end up settling somewhere. Also
