A thought about that Emote tab.

Prelude: There was an emotes tab in todays PBE update. It was unusable and removed later in the day. I dont really think we need much speculation in the "what" aspect of emotes, but i have an inquiry: Will they be the new IP sink to balance out Runes being free next year, or will they be RP exclusive money grabs? (not judging btw, Riot's a company and one rioter (ghostcrawler i think?) did say making runes free was gonna cost them actual profit)

Of course I prefer the former, but the latter has me wondering just how flashy these could get. Like an emote tier scale similar to skins? Regardless I just wondered what others think.

I think 3rd option,cause Riot like to make events with some ip sweeties sometimes :)

Speculative: but when I did a survey for Riot about emotes their pricing scheme was RP exclusive

oh-ho, an interesting clue my friend. As suspected, still cool tho assuming the emotes are worth and the price isnt anything above like a summ icon.

I won't comment on pricing mainly because they were using me as a metric to determine thier price points and giving out inaccurate information could hinder what could potentially be something cool to be added to the game

But runes are bought with IP so there's no "Profit" there right now. The Rune pages are bought with IP or RP and will still be used in the same fashion.. so they aren't losing anything either way.

Also since runes could only be gotten with IP meant less IP to get new champs, a common complaint, which meant using RP for those too. (this tactic still exists in the form of releasing new champs +1000 ip for a week. Its to tempt RP)

By making Runes free now no one needs to "save" ip so both champs and pages will likely see a decline in RP sales.
