What is wrong with the SG mode?

No seriously. Here i am sitting on the forums and i am seeing people just COMPLAIN about a gamemode that is made SPECIFICALLY to be hard (Just like doombots) and that some missions require premades? Really boards? REALLY?

I am not a huge fan of Riot, believe me, anyone who has seen me arguing on these boards knows, but this event, this event is AMAZING! Its an event for a single SKIN line, an event which basically serves as a multiverse story for the LOL universe. If this is what we can expect further, then i cannot wait, because it does what i always like franchises doing, spreading out to different possibilities.

Having solo and group missions is bad? Why does everyone always want EVERYTHNG to be for them? Ok, you cant do the group missions. And? You are the one choosing to not participate, not the other way around, If both solo players and group players have missions, what is the problem? There is none, besides simple selfishness, wanting to receive a reward despite not doing what is needed to be done. Furthermore, you can even get the reward while playing solo (Yes you can, you can ignore the bullshit lying thread that is currently highly upvoted, it lies)

And difficulty? Really? Do not get me wrong, this gamemode IS HARD, but unlike doombots it is not UNFAIR. It is HARD and FAIR. It is like darksouls, fuck ups are punished, but you are given opportunities to learn (You have several tries at each point), you are given oppotunities to prepare beforehand (Masteries, champions, items). Everything is fair.

I really do not get why the boards are angry about ANY of this.

The only thing i can say here, is what i learned in Darksouls.

GIT GUD!

(LET THE DOWNVOTES COMMENCE!)

I like the challenge but the only issue is that you can get literally perma-locked by being killed and reviving one another (when Cho, Vel, and Kha/Kog are all in one match) it lasted for 10 minutes before my team dc'd.

And when they spawn the Vel'koz in the bridge defense mission where he's outside the radius, he spawned far out enough that we'd die before we could kill him

Doom Bots was hard - but you went in understanding it was going to be pissingly hard. However, Doom Bots you could beat with a little strategy and skill.

This Onslaught mode, with bullet hell Velkoz, is purely RNG based. There is absolutely no skill to doing it, and for anyone who's not a challenger tier in a 5 man premade with no one less than Gold is able to efficiently beat it. That means us scrubs, the average playes that comprises most of Riot's playerbase, can't even begin to do this mode and succeed. This is like those crane games or casino machines- they are outright engineered to make you lose 90% of the time, and that's what makes the mode feel uber shitty. It frustrates the shit out of players, and angry players tend to start quitting and losing faith in the company.

  1. 20 velkoz Q's on the screen is not fun to play against.
  2. You need a 5 man premade which not everyone can easily do.
  3. While you're trying to dodge those 20 velkoz Q's kog spawns and kills your whole team if not dead within 3 secs.
  4. It's extremely hard to not get overloaded with enemies.

My only issue for having group missions is that the removal of chat groups and replacing them with clubs makes finding a premade difficult if you do not have very many friends online. Other than that I have no issue.

What? The mode is great. Just ignore Onslaught & fuck the missions, that's what I've been doing.

because they launched the previous missions that were all able to be completed if everyone of all skill levels put in time, that is fun for all involved. These "missions" are basically impossible for the majority of players to complete and as such are un-fun.

EG: A player's skill level at the game shouldn't keep them out of content for events. It's a dipshit move considering they want people to PLAY the game and have fun AND buy the skins. This is a huge fail and they won't step up and admit it.

Its pretty good. Minor sticking point that the bullet-hell lvl is ~4 times harder than the other option you can get.

You see a lot of people complaining because people like to complain, about anything.

Look at the boards normally and you see the considerable majority of threads are complaining about one thing or another. People tend to not say much when they are happy with things, and be very vocal when they are not.

Requiring premades is kind of a bum deal for a playerbase that still doesn't understand why they get banned for saying the N-bomb.

As far as difficulty, I think people are probably just not used to the sheer chaos and don't have picks tailored to the game mode. But people always complain about difficulty.

I think that (basically) forcing someone to do something is totally wrong, even in a game; and that, of course you still can have fun, but basically playing already knowing you're gonna lose isn't very good either :D

This was never made clear until some rioter made a post on the forums. Like srsly for the first day most people probably thought these missions were all there was. Every instance of missions prior to this one had a page on the website that went into detail how the missions would go, this one didn't. As far as anyone can see after playing the mode once there's 3 missions and completing these would leave you at 4 tokens, the exact amount for a reward. This will cause people to think these are the only missions available.

Having 2 solo missions and 2 group missons only would be bad because it would force you to get a premade team if you want the reward.

Honestly, I just find it boring. The difficulty doesn't bother me, and I'd actually enjoy it if the mode itself didn't burn out for me after a couple of play-throughs. I just hate that the modes I enjoy the most(URF/Hexakill/One For All) are locked in a vault somewhere, when I'd rather it be more like SC2 custom games, where players decide when and what they play.

League of Legends was created from a fucking custom game mode, so the idea of hiding popular custom game modes behind a rotation is possibly the dumbest shit ever. I just wish that Riot would make the custom game modes permanent, and let us choose which ones we want to play. Having said that, I do think that "it's shoppin' time!" should be added to absolutely every game mode.
