Some sort of Aatrox ideas for a rework

Aatrox is suppose to be a late game champion, however the the double attack speed buff, poor scaling just make Aatrox not that effect early nor late game. Which, is kind of sad for a champion with such good model. And sometimes his abilities doesn't fit his lore very well too.

In my opinion, Aatrox should be someone like this:

  1. Powerful Warrior, good at close combat and facing multiple enemies, weak range combat.

  2. Thirst for battle, this is obvious.

And For now, he suffers from a lot of different issues:

  1. Weak late game, As a pure melee fighter, it is quite strange that he falls off so quickly since most of his damage comes from auto attacks.

  2. Passive stack too slow. Well, this is an obvious problem.

  3. E and R's magic damage doesn't match his play style. His E pretty much just use for early game, same as ultimate. Late game his ult is just like something increase his range. And the attack speed bonus just stacks badly with his passive and attack speed items.

  4. gap gloser (Q) is bad, hard to land, short range, long cast time.

So I am going to share a new kit, enjoy and feel free to leave a comment~~

**Passive: Blood Well Cooldown : 240/200/160 s Level up @ 1/ 7 / 13 **

For every ability cast or blood price attacks, Aatrox will gain a stack of Thirst of Blood, up to 10 times. (display under health, like Rengar's passive) Charge Attacks will increase the stacks by 2.

If Aatrox is out of combat for 5 seconds, 1 stack is dropped each second.

Each stack of Thirst of Blood gives Aatrox 3% (+0.5% of his bonus attack speed) attack speed increase. Level attack speed counts. > (For example, item 3153 having 40% bonus attack speed, Level 18 Aatrox with this and 10 stacks will give 30% + (40+51)/2% = 75.5% attack speed)

When Aatrox takes fatal damage, Aatrox will remove all debuffs and gets back up (untargetable) in 1 second. Each Stack of Thirst of Blood will heals him for 5% of his maximum health.

> Goal of these changes: > His passive scales well with items now. Also it is now much easier to stack.

**Q : Dark Flight ** Cooldown : 14/13/12/11/10s Cost: 10% Current Health Range: Normal: 650 / Charged: 850

NORMAL:

Aatrox thrust forward and dashes to the target location instanly, dealing physical damage and slows them for 1 second to every enemy his passes through in a line. Width: 200 units

CHARGED (Press and Hold button):

Aatrox charges for 0.6 seconds, then jumps up in the air and dives to target location with 250 units radius. Knocks up every enemy hit in the center (100 units) for 1 seconds, and others for 0.6 seconds.

DAMAGE: NORMAL : 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+ 100% Bonus AD) CHARGED : 60% Extra BASE DAMAGE

> Goal of these changes: > Scales better, has the option to instant cast to just close the gap, or charge the ability out of sight and knocks up enemies for an engage.

W : Blood Thirst / Blood Price Cooldown : 0.5s Cost: 10/20/30/40/50 Health Range: Melee

PASSIVE: Aatrox applies a bonus on-hit effect on every third ATTACK against non-structures.

TOGGLE OFF – BLOOD THIRST: Aatrox heals himself on-attack. While Aatrox is below 50% maximum health, heal is tripled.

TOGGLE ON – BLOOD PRICE: Aatrox consumes health to deal bonus on-hit physical damage.

HEAL: 10/20/30/40/50 (+ 20/25/30/35/40% Bonus Attack Damage)

DAMAGE: 40/70/100/130/160 (+ 70/80/90/100/110% Bonus Attack Damage)

> Goal of these changes: > Scales better into late game, however it doesn't work with item 3124 anymore

**E : Blood Edge ** Cooldown : 10/9/8/7/6s Cost: 7.5% Current Health Range: Normal: 350 / Charged: 470

NORMAL:

Aatrox performs a powerful sweep with his extended blade, dealing physical damage to every enemy struck. Apply on-hit effects to every enemy. Will also Trigger Blood Thirst of Blood Price if they are ready and consumes the stacks. Blood thirst will heal for at least 100% of its efficiency, each enemy champion struck will increase it by 10% (minions will have a 3% increase). Capped at 140% efficiency.
Blood price will do 80% of its damage to every enemy hit.

CHARGED (Press and Hold button): Charge time equals to the time you need to perform 2 auto attacks.

Instead of one sweep, Aatrox will do a double sweep. The second sweep will have a bigger range. Both sweeps apply on-hit effects to every enemy. Only the second sweep will apply Blood thrist/Blood Price. Blood thirst will heal for at least 100% of its efficiency, each enemy champion struck will increase it by 20% (minions will have a 3% increase). Capped at 180% efficiency.
Blood price will do 110% of its damage to every enemy hit.

On-hit effects applied exclude item 3077 's Cleave

DAMAGE: NORMAL : 70/85/100/115/130% Total Attack Damage CHARGED : Double damage.

> Goal of these changes: > Remeber his critial attack's whip animation? Yeah the extend weapon means that :) > Make his kit combined together, his old E doesn't combo with his kit very well. With this he will have a strong late game, but he cannot poke his enemies in lane anymore. Poke doesn't fit his theme too in my opinion

**R : Massacre ** Cooldown : 130/110/90s Cost: N/A Range: Self Buff

Awake his thirst of blood, Aatrox hovers in the air and gain bonus Movement Speed while moving towards enemy champions in sight, increase his attack range to 350 and cleave every enemy within 375 Radius. Apply on-hit effects to every enemy struck with 60% efficiency. (including Blood Thirst/Blood price)

On-hit effects applied exclude item 3077 's Cleave

Aatrox's Dark Flight and Blood Edge will automatically fully charged when used. His Blood Thirst and Blood Price will also trigger simultaneously.

> Blood thirst and Blood Price will only heal once per auto attack, Blood Price's Health cost will only cost once.

MOVEMENT SPEED: 20/30/40% additive DURATION: 8/11/14 seconds

> Goal of these changes: > This ability should be a powerful buff scales into late game, not just some magic damage scales with AP and attack speed increase similar to his passive in my opinion. Pay attention that this ability needs items to be effect thus it is not as powerful as it seems. >

Finally, this idea is towards making Aatrox into a true late game monster. Leave a comment as you wish ~~

Just wanted to say, Rageblade works with all on-hits. As long as Aatrox's W is coded as an on-hit effect, it will work with Rageblade. Now, for the review.

Passive: The quicker AS stacking is nice, but it is significantly less than live, which is about 55%. Not only that, a 1 second revive is a tad bit strong. I would rather see Aatrox's passive toned down a bit, since it sucks up a large portion of his power budget.

Q: The charge mechanic is interesting, and the base dash seems nice. Does the charged form give you stacks, or is it just AA? Overall a nice change to the current skill.

W: The early game damage on this is going to be pretty bad. Its weaker in both scaling and base damage early levels. Its either going to force you to max the skill to be useful, or just keep people from maxing the skill, in favor of your more damaging Q or E.

E: This skill would turn Aatrox into a sort of a Jax, weaving in auto's between proccing this skill. While not a bad thing, it may force Aatrox to buy Tri-force, something he scales badly off of. Its already one of his recommended items, and I'd like it to be farther removed from him. I do however like the sword-whip idea. I feel like the whole "living sword" isn't really capitalized on as much as it could be.

R: Its a pretty good ultimate, but it'd be nice if it did something like give Aatrox some form of shred or max health damage for a bit, to make it more viable late game. The cleave interaction is interesting, but the simultaneous damage + heal may be a bit too much.
