Can't win in ranked, help me :(

Before Reading or replying: A: Yes I'm bad - B: no i will not "git gud" - C: I am exactly as good as what is the rank that I finished last season with(Gold 4). D: Yes there are games where I do not always build optimally and can possibly troll or just play for myself. E: If you are going to read and reply, please provide fair unbiased and concise feedback.

So this is another one of those threads you guys love to poor over, get ready for it, it's another "I can't win because of others thread"

This season I had started off with flex queue, I actually managed to do decently after my 10 placement games, although the 10 placement games weren't great, If i remember correctly I either won 6 or 7 out of 10. I got placed Bronze 1, Not too bad considering I was expecting the system to fully troll me and place me bronze 4/5. But Through decent games and a good bit of hard work, I managed to climb up to silver 2, I hovered around there for a bit and then took a break with ranked flex.

Thinking I'd had enough practice and got back into the game(because I had quit for a little while to focus on things early on in the year). I decided to start doing soloQ ranked.

Originally the 10 placement games weren't anything special, I was unfortunate to have a few platinum and diamond players on the enemy teams while the meandering bronze and silver kids on my teams were nothing special so those 10 games ended up being 4 wins out of 10 If I remember correctly.

But!! I was super surprised, I had been placed silver 2, Man was I happy, Rito was believing in me!!!!!!! For the following two weeks games were okay, mostly just a bit of back and forth, win 2 lose 1, win 3 lose 2, win 1 lose 3. You know, just even, can't complain too much, was just holding out for the streak dream to come up!.

Andddd then for some reason, it just randomly started to go sour.

Why? I have no idea, I almost feel like I made god angry somehow in real life and this is a punishment, because the punishment is sure showing very hard.

I checked My Match history and As of tonight, Counting out the last 50 games played, I Have won 14, and lost 36. 14/36. Almost 3x the losses than wins.

Now I am by no means perfect, I do not always cs perfectly, I do not always make the best plays, and there of course are always times where I can and will get outplayed by someone, as is with anyone.

People really strongly disagree that other people can cause game losses and always protest hard that I should carry the game, but you really have to ask yourself how?

To start off, I am an adc main, and at least up until this recent mid season patch, adc's have been absolutely horrible, smashed, constantly one shot, extremely easy for any standard tank with one ad item to pick off. Even supports can solo them, adc's often require 3-5 items and a steady lead to be anything close to relevant in the game.

Nobody here can deny the fact that there is a very obvious amount of luck when It comes to playing.

I have to get lucky in the lobby that first off, the people I'm put onto a team with are good and/or have brains and can think for themselves, or rather think at all. I have to get lucky in the lobby that those people on my team including myself pick useful champions and do not troll pick or waste bans. I have to get lucky that someone on my team does not purposely ban my or anyone elses' champion and entice an argument before the game begins. I have to get lucky that before 10 minutes, 3/4 of the people on my team(myself excluded) have not already died 3 or more times. I have to get lucky that players on my team are aware enough and smart enough that wards are to be bought and utilized. I have to get lucky that when beginning a team fight, the people on my team will actually follow up and be useful and do something, and not instead cut and run leaving me out to dry in front of 3 enemies. AND ESPECIALLY As an ADC MAIN, I have to be VERY LUCKY that the SUPPORT that I am placed with, ACTUALLY BUYS SUPPORT ITEMS, and does not troll.

There are countless negatives to consistently deal with.

One or more or all of many different outcomes and possibilities exists.

My support could have died to the enemy blitz crank 3 times before 6 minutes in and says "GG adc trash /ff" then tilts, leaves lane, spams ff, and starts suiciding. We could have a massive team fight mid because the enemy has grouped up and is sieging our mid lane outer turret and we are trying to defend it. And our top laner is afk top lane poking fun at a few minions, has ult, flash and teleport up and available. I could absolutely stomp the enemy bot lane with my great support and we could be 6/1/12 combined! Wow! we did it, what a well earned and well fought lane! But it's not that simple right? No. To counter this, mid lane has died 4 times is spam raging in the chat at how bad and useless our jungle is. And top lane, although has only died once, has lost both turrets because "I can't farm vs yasuo in my face 24/7" and is too scared to even play the game. These are just a few of many numerous possibilities as to how things can happen or what can go down during the course of my games. And don't forget the classic games where someone has afk'd or dc'd or left on purpose or has just simply lost lane and is purposely face rolling the game so that It ends as quickly as possible.

The only other role I play is jungle, and then there is an occasional support game If I'm really feeling bummed out and just want to try and cc people an hope for a win.

I absolutely implore anyone to review my match history, No you will not find perfect csing, yes I have absolutely fed in games, But match history does not actually tell you everything though.

If you review every single one, of the last 50 games that I have played, you will more than likely find that in about 10% of games, I have fed my ass off like a boosted monkey and have had a bad game, about 20% of them I will go even in lane, and the presence of both the enemy mid laner and jungle either in my own jungle or diving the bot turret will throw the game into a losing position. And about 10% of games, will be fully even with equally skilled people, end up being 35-45 minutes, and the unfortunate "got caught out" or "failed baron smite" or "our top laner tried to 1v3 and then we lost" will happen either on my team or the enemy team, and thus the game will immediately be decided.

That still leaves 60%, I had played a huge!!!!!!! amount of games last season, and Ended it with a very decent k/d/a for my skill level and/or elo/rank. I also had consistent positive win rates on the champions that I had mained throughout it as well.

I actually used to be that guy, I was the bronze 5, super ultra toxic ragey prick that was tyler1 toxic all the time If ANYTHING went wrong. Then I finally had my account banned back in 2015. I had taken time off and gathered thoughts and although it was very tough, I slowly learned my way in the game and became better and more tame in games.

Rarely, and I mean rarely today, do I ever verbally abuse anyone at all. and If i do it certainly is nothing like what it used to be before. It has been a super long time since I have had a chat restriction, probably at least 10 months.

By becoming less toxic, working on myself, and bettering my own play style and skill, I managed to actually finish gold 4 for the first time ever last season, and that was with the craziness that was dynamic queue, that was no small feat coming from bronze 5.

I absolutely dread being in bronze or even remotely close to it. I know I am far superior in skill, play style, awareness, capability, and thinking prowess than anyone in bronze.

I will admit to the fact that I played a lot of adc games last year, and I know for a fact that while adc's were nothing amazing, adc's had much more game presence than they do this year. In my own personal opinion I always felt an adc had at least a 60% chance to be capable of carrying a game, now a days I feel its more like 17%.

I am at a loss right now, I feel so demotivated to play.

Every single game is so one sided. There is no justification to the people that I am being placed with, I really feel like the system is punishing me for something. I don't know what, but it sure seems like it.

I just can not get good teammates, no matter what, there is no way around it, every game is becoming a struggle, If i'm bot lane, my lane usually goes fairly decently, its probably a 60/40 that I win the lane, and then there's the occasional time it goes even or we lose lane. If i switch to jungle or get jungle, bot lane is automatically 0/7 at 10 minutes in and is raging at me even though I've successfully ganked top twice resulting in two kills and have my farm going steady and strong top lane control.

There is no mercy to any of it. Regardless of what I do.

If you take a challenger player and put him in my position, is he going to win more games? of course naturally, but even someone as skilled as that, who more often then not would be fed themselves, can not consistently carry 3 or 4 players that are basically headless chickens.

80% of my games, the people that I am playing with, I really have to honestly and heart fully wish bad things upon, they are horrifically toxic, overly abusive, highly unaware, extremely negligent, very bad, and seemingly win trading bot like people.

This truly is elo hell, It actually exists people. There is no joke about it.

Riot has this thing in your client, where if you report someone, sometimes, the instant feedback popup shows up, that they were successfully reported and punished.

There is a reason I see this popup daily folks, 8/10 games there is always, and I mean always, something to report for. Someone has fed, someone has int fed, someone has purposely thrown the game, someone has raged and quit, someone else has done something, to lose my LP.

There are some people that I actually truly wish I had a teleportation device or power, and super strength, I truly wish to the lord in the heavens, that I could teleport, and permanently disfigure the hands of some of the people that I have played with. I have witnessed some of the utterly worst and most significantly dumb people there are in the world playing this game. And the question begs, why am I in game with them to begin with? My mmr is and was clearly higher then theirs??? FAR higher.

It takes 5 players on my team including me and my efforts, to win a game. But more often then not, it only takes one person to lose it and more often then not, 3 people are trying to lose it?

Why?

I haven't looked at your games. This is general knowledge most people should be learning.

You are the only thing that is constant through all your games. Once you realise this, the only way to improve at league is to improve your own gameplay, to increase your overall chances of winning.

League is about increasing your resources faster then your opponent. The easiest way to achieve this is denying your opponent from receiving resources.

In this mentality, Your largest goal is to not die.

When you die, you are losing out on 2 resources (gold/exp), and allowing the enemy free access to those same resources along with the option to help out another lane so they can either deny your team even more resources and/or take an objective, which is again more resources for their entire team. This is has snowballing occurs.

Each level is worth roughly 700 gold in stats. Each objective varies in gold value from about 100-200 to 600-700 gold, or in the rift heralds case, this can vary quite a bit.

When you are alive, you have the potential to deny your enemy from receiving resources, which not only helps yourself, but your entire team.

Even if you unable to receive gold from clearing minions or jungle camps, staying alive to receive experience is just as valuable a resource to collect.

If your completely backed into your tower, or even pushed out of your tower so you can't farm cs, stay within range of dying minions, and try to use long range skilsl to cs where it's safe to do so.

If you die while protecting your tower, you will give them free damage towards the obective, along with free denial of all forms of resources you could have gained, along with giving them free reign to collect resources as they choose.

If the enemy collapses on you, and you have no chance of killing any single target, do your best to delay your death as long as possible.

Every second you spend wasting their time, is time that your team can be collecting resources.

If you are behind, and their team has formed a 5 man group, your team should not be grouping together trying to save the 1 tower from dying.

If they are seiging a tower, have 1 or 2 of your team members in other lanes collecting resources (try to have your carries do so) to apply reverse pressure, so the enemy team can't stay in a death ball, and will have to stop the seige for a few minutes to stop the reverse pressure.

If all 5 of your team is in 1 spot your team is gaining the same resources as the team that is ahead, which will keep them ahead.

If you split up, their team will be gaining less resources, allowing your team to catch up. They are likely to take the objective anyways, even if you have 5 people there to defend it.

As long as your team is not dying to 'save' the objective, and just clearing the minions so the other team is forced to 'dive' to take the objective or they will be forced to stop the pressure in the other lanes.

In this way your doing exactly what is required to get back into the game.

This seems to be your largest struggle from the information you've provided.

Of course you can't explain this to other players during a game, but you can attempt to do everything in your power to increase the odds of your team winning.

Here's a list I've created over time, on things that you can actively work on, and that can influence the overall game in general.

Hope it helps you further increase your chances of winning.

Individual Player Based Mechanical Skills that can be worked on each and every game.

Animation Cancelling Auto Cancelling Farming Kiting Mouse Accuracy Not Raging/Blaming Reaction Time Smiting Target Selection

Individual Player Based Knowledge that can always be further expanded/refined.

Back Timings Calls Champion Kits Champion Select Communication Early Game Identifying Player Strength Levels Itemization Lane Assignments Late Game Match Ups/Champion Interactions Meta Mid Game Objective Control Power Spikes Tab Screen

Things that require game knowledge and mechanical skill combined

Baiting Contesting CS Damage/Poke Ganking Laning Map Awareness Pathing Pings Positioning Reading Players Roaming Rotations Sieging Split Pushing Summoner Spell Usage Trading Vision Wave Control

Conditions that effect the outcome of a game

i just want to let you guys know i played support on rankeds and all other lanes lost every time. i ganked them but still they couldnt win lanes so support isnt a good option because you will still lose even if oure playing well

there is no reason to play support outside of the random games that you are autofilled into the role, it has little to no presence in the game at low elo.

Riot like any other game is dependent on player loyalty to survive. Many gaming companies simply game the gamers... it is very easy to statistically determine what win rate at what frequency will get a player hooked on their game the hardest. Human psychology can be easily gamed by managing success rates, emotional and chemical reactions to maximize game time. Gaming your brain by basically controlling your win rate and maximizing the dopamine response will ensure you spend more time playing, and playing more often. There are many patents on algorithms designed to maximize gaming addition among players... the higher number of gaming addicts that play more and more often, the larger the profits. Matchmaking algorithms designed to throttle your success and maximize your dopamine response to the game are extremely easy to program, especially with the extreme data detail that is recorded with each match. Is Riot going about these types of practices? Although not illegal, these things to my mind are highly unethical... let's assume Riot does not unless there is evidence to believe they are. Whatever algorithm Riot uses for matchmaking, thereby deciding who is on your team, and who is on the opposing team... is outside your control. If you get teamed up with players that are low skilled, have bad internet connections, frequently AFK, grief, and tilt... you are obviously not as likely to win as often. None of this is within your control.

There are plenty of factors that are within your control. There are plenty of coaching sessions on youtube speaking to this point. I'd start working your way up by starting there. Good luck.

idk man I been struggling this season as well. I gave up jungling and sticking to mid lane. Last season Jungle seemed like most important role but I don't think that's the case anymore. Or at least... it got nerfed. I personally am sick of my mids feeding and losing lane every game so I am playing mid. Just going to focus on each game and try and improve knowing one day (hopefully soon) I will be back in gold. Then actually playing the game can start happening again. Not saying players in gold are good but.... holy shit there not as bad as a good chunk of the silver players we have to play. And although games are definitely not a pro level in gold... there are more chill, a little quicker passed, and in my opinion more fun. Its not like there isn't 1 sided stomps but.... at least I generally don't see adcs going 1-11 verse someone their same rank and amazed that your teammate is fed verse similar ranked trash people.

Hello there. Some games can not be won. But u actually can do something about winning more games that u losing. Dont play adc. Play mid/jg or even supp. At least at me that worked. When u play mid even if you are countered u can always push a wave and roam bot lane, all u have to do is tell ur botlane buy a pink ward and gank them with your jungler or alone, from river or from lane bush. Same as supp, u can pick poke champs and poke enemy adc all day, he will be out of farm soon enough and with vision, bot lane will be a won lane. If you are enjoying playing adc, then play safe picks caitlyn, ashe, cork, tristana and just farm and kite when the other adc will go for cs. Work on your map awareness. But vision is the key thats why i told you play supp. U can win a game just by putting and cleaning wards. Thats by me, a boosted gold scrub.

Yeah ur definitely right, I think i have to fully stop playing adc, imaqtpie can carry with challenger skill level but down here in silver and gold its too bogged down, even a 0/5/2 riven with just black clever can solo kill an adc that has 3 items. Im gunna start spamming jungle and support.

I'm sorry, but Me(Skarner ) and my Top(Sion ) fed our asses off in our recent game. Our mid Akali fed as well. The thing is we didn't blame each other for our mistakes. We eventually just started to get back our gold and started to get items. I was 1/6 by the 25 minute mark. Got my items and eventually became unkillable ending the game 7/7. You have to remember this is League of Legends. This is not a team game. If you don't go into the matches thinking it's 1v9 then you will constantly loose games. Live by our god and savior Imaqtpie "Everyone is boosted and It's always up to me to win the game".

Oh yah, I've had this mindset for a very long time, I most often play for myself, When i do so i always cs better and focus rotating to take turrets more. The moment I ever care about others on my team my k/d/a goes down immediately. And yeah i remember last year in gold people didnt flame as much. In silver they do a lot though, I rarely speak a word ever in games now a days because talking is just another way to lose. But every game someone is raging at somebody :/.

Yea I got fucked over in my Promo's and put into silver. Since I mainly stay in gold for the season free skins. IDC about going to plat or Diamond since it doesn't really matter to me. So when I'm put into silver 2 it's horrible. Since i'm a jungle main if I get bot fed Top feeds 2x as many kills as bot gets. Which is impressive since it's 2v2 vs 1v1. I recently had a Yasuo top spam KYS in chat because I never ganked his unwarded lane and was constantly ganked by a Sejuani. Reading someone spam in chat KYS and all kinds of other insults was funny though. I don't mute these players, because it's funny to see them just going on and on. agreeing with them just makes me picture they are frothing at the mouth trying to "Hurt my feelings".

So if you are so sure about everything you wrote, even dismissing our arguments in advance with some (questionnable) of yours, why even bother posting ?

Did you write this just so we can agree and tell you : "Man you are so right, I think you are out of luck, we are really sorry for you, you really are worth Gold 4 but you wont reach it this season because of your bad luck, life is so unfair, why wouldnt you sit and cry a bit while we pat you on the back ?".

You are not asking for help. You are asking for compassion. Sure you will have a lot of answer here telling you you are right, they can't climb either, you are not alone, it's riot, it's their fraking matchmaking which is broken.

And then you will feel confortable again, "it's not your fault", you knew it. Damn it Rito, why so much hate, maybe if you starts over a new account it will work out ? Then you will start a new account, you will tryhard harder than you ever tryharded before, and will climb up back to gold 4, even gold 2 or plat. And you would have successfully created a self fulfilling prophecy. You will then proceed to answer this kind of topic saying that "eh riots matchmaking is broken, just starts a new account".
