Top lane complaining constantly about not getting ganks from jungler.....

I'm a jungler main. I'm not great but I'm learning and I'm very objective orientated. I often have either the top vision or cs score, or both, in the game. I'm constantly trying to make it easier for my team to win. I'm always warding the river through scuttles, ghost poros and possible gank areas for top and bot. I dont get a lot of kills but I also dont feed. I help push a lot of towers.

I'm low elo so I play with a lot of people who dont seem to know how to respond when I gank. Often, they'll just hang back and let me take all the damage and then try to swoop in for the easy kill. If they do that, I usually dont gank again.

Lately, I've been seeing something strange. Top laners pinging for assistance nearly the entire first ten minutes of the game. What's been unusual about this is not that they're usually way out of position for a gank (pressing the opposing tower), but that lately these top laners have been absolutely dominating their lanes. The last few that "reported" me for not ganking them had a kill and cs advantage. They last few were at least 4 kills above their opposing laner by 10-15 minutes. One was 5-1 with a 25 cs advantage at 10 minutes when he said he'd been asking for assistance all game and now he was going to report me. Even though I'd already went in for the gank twice and the enemy 1) backed as I approached and 2) retreated under tower while my guy didn't press and kept farming.

I understand the "I'm 0-4 why haven't you ganked," but it's really strange how often the complaints are now coming from the guys dominating.

My laner pov tells me

"if opponents are on my side of map more than 3mins and jungler doesnt gank i have bad jungler

If i ping "bot no summs or adc flash and my jungler doesnt gank i have a bad jungler.

If.they 3men bot dive me i got a bad jungler.

But

If i die in first 5mins of game alone or ganked im s bad laner

If.i ping for help because zoned im a bad laner__

Not sure what you're trying to say.

I dont mind helping out. That's not what this topic is about. I dont see how what you're saying applies.

I mained jungle for a little more than half the season and I’ll tell you what I’ve learned (top and mid main now):

If you’re going to main top lane, you’re expected to sustain and survive. You should not expect a gank, ever. You should expect to remain on your island and 1v1 or 1v2 at times and you’re going to remain there until a turret falls.

Do not expect a gank. Don’t ask for a gank. Don’t put yourself in a position that requires a gank.

It is far more lucrative for your team to have your jungler focus on bot/mid/dragon than babysit you. Your mid should be the only one willing to gank for you, and that’s only if they are winning lane.

If your jungler is coming up to gank for you, thank him, but understand he is doing something wrong. Don’t play top if you cant survive on your own. Don’t jungle and expect to gank top.

I'm learning slowly but surely. When I constantly gank, I fall behind big in levels. If I farm to keep up, people complain I'm not ganking. Lol. I play aggressively so I CAN gank. Typically, I do bot buff, then immediately scuttle top and invade top. I've had great success at my elo stealing the buff and average a kill probably every four games doing this. Many times it's first blood.

I try to gank top early but if they're in a bad position, I dont. That's typical of all the lanes. If the laner is having trouble getting to the enemy because the enemy is playing smartly, I'm not going to do much. And I'm not going to stand there helping you cs when you get upset if I take any.

Nobody seems to notice that I'm warding their area so they dont get ganked nor say thank you for it. Nobody remembers the many times I DO come by and force your enemy away from farm so you can get it even though it doesnt benefit me in any way.

When I gank and a laner gets a kill, very rarely does anyone give a thumbs up emote or say thank you. Even though you were playing terribly, getting out farmed and I took a ton of damage so you could get a kill.

I'm just guessing but...sometimes even if you're ahead top and, let's say, playing something that isn't a bruiser...you still want some help from the jungler to push the tower so you can rotate/roam and try to carry. Sometimes a toplaner is 2 or 3 kills ahead but can't push (especially because of early death timers and tp) and has to watch as the jungler only plays around a losing botlane. That's still not a reason to keep pinging or reporting...but i guess they are just too eager to carry.

Certainly understand that. And I have no issue helping in that situation. But most of the time, the laner doesnt push if there is no gank available when I get there. They slowly farm and let the wave builds.

I'd have no issue if we cleared the waves and sent them to the tower.
