Urgot Ult Vs GP

Shiznyte··4 votes·13,949 views

So I noticed that GP can just Remove Scurvy out of Urgot's execute portion of his ult. I was wondering is this the intended interaction and if so why? I have no problem with GP using W to drop the slow portion of the ult, but if i reactivate the second portion and pull him in to execute he can just W out of it. A 22 second basic skill can stop a 2 minute ult... Is there a possibility that this is an unintended interaction?

GP W is literaly a QSS, it's intended 100%

no amount of oranges should save you from chains bringing you too a meat grinder... this is just more proof that GP is a busted champion lol

and a wall of wind can block the living embodiment of the earth (orins ulti) RIOT likes things on a gameplay standpoint and not thematically

many have acknowledged that wind wall is also a busted skill too.

Qss is on a 90 second CD not a 20 second CD, also QSS doesn't heal you. It's not literally a QSS is far superior too QSS.

Everything that makes you CC immune can ignore the pull from Urgot ult, be it Shyv R, WW R, Sion R, Malph R or Vi R. You get the idea. Any spellshield like Sivir E can block the second part of it. Any effect that removes CC, be it GP W, QSS, Rengar W can break the chains. Obviously, things that make you immortal like Trynd R, Kayle R or Taric R :P

And there's a few oddball ways to counter it aswell, like the Stasis effect on Kled's passive

A big difference between some of those skills is they require timing. sion cant ult out of cc he has to ult early... same with malph, shyvanna, and Vi. GP can press it at anytime and not die... maybe if he did it early on to force the skill to drop okay, but mid execution seems a bit silly. GP gets way to much love from Riot ever since that rework. Also trading ult for ult is way diff than trading W for Ult.

Sahn Uzal1 votes

The character recently received a 15 damage buff to Trial by Fire, and that was his first buff since the rework. They litterally nerfed every single one of his abilities And his base stats, most of which multiple times. So I really don't see how he ''gets way too much love from Riot ever since that rework''

Also, Remove Scurvy barely changed with the rework.

Also trading ult for ult is way diff than trading W for Ult.

It's like using your nocturne ult or Zed ult on a Sivir, she's just gonna press one button and negate your ultimate. That's not an issue because you can force the spellshield, or in this case oranges, before ulting so the GP doesn't have a safety net.

Shiznyte1 votes

The entire rework was a massive buff that was over-tuned don't forget about that. He needed the nerfs he got because of the rework being too strong. That rework was the most love any champion has gotten in a while considering what he was before that rework that's why I said they gave him too much love. as for Sivir, Sivir's spell shield skill requires anticipation, GP's can just be used when ever he needs it. Sivir CANNOT spell shield while CC'd so its not a fair comparison.

Power budget, my friend. Where GP has an advantage over some characters, he has a disadvantage in another. It's not like you can deny most of a champion's damage outputs by simply auto attacking a keg, eh?

Shiznyte1 votes

The risk reward to denying his damage can also mean you die if you make one mistake trying to pop the keg. GP is one of the strongest champions in the game and Remove Scurvy is a big reason why, aside from his insane damage, scaling, and Free Gold generation he gets. Not to mention a Global ult "Skill Shot" that takes up most of a lane in diameter...

You can QSS Urgout ult? WTF why? That literally completely deletes the point of the spell. And it's already basically a shitty Darius ultimate.

Shiznyte1 votes

QSS costs 1300 gold and forces you to commit to an item. if you want to spend the gold to defend vs it similar to a malz ult that should be okay. I have no problem with QSS because it always has a 90 sec CD so you can work around it when urgot's ult gets to higher ranks. even with 40% cdr and at its highest rank urgots ult will never be on a shorter CD than GP's remove scurvy and that's why i feel the interaction is wrong.

Sahn Uzal1 votes

Because it's coded as a surpression, which you can QSS, it's the same effect as Warwick ult or Malzahar ult.

Doozku1 votes

Yeah but what I hate is that CC is not even a function of the spell. The only reason it's there is for visual flair because the main point of the spell is the execute. But even then you can break out of it. IMO no spell should be allowed to QSS Urgot ult.

Shiznyte1 votes

Yeah i don't think GP's skill needs to be gone, but specific interactions need to be changed because the champion is getting away with way to much.

Doozku1 votes

Nah nothing to do with GP just nothing should be able to cleanse Urgot ult. Otherwise GP is fine IMO.

Shiznyte1 votes

yeah, the specific interaction I'm talking about is Urgot ult.

FireDrizzle1 votes

Wow that is stupid. You can cancel Urgot ult with Sion ult, don't know about Malph, but you have to be a genius if possible. Vi must be able to.

Sharld1 votes

It sucks, but it works as intended. Basically, Urgot's second ult cast supressed the target and pulls them towards himself before executing the target, but they still need to be surpressed. GP just gets out of the surpression, thus negating the execution part.

Sujiren1 votes

It's not just Gp, olaf can press R and walk out of urgots ult.

Shiznyte1 votes

That is an ult for ult trade which I feel like is a bit more acceptable. GP's skill is on a 20 second CD.

Friendly Ram1 votes

remove scurvy is W barrels are E. Besides if you want to nerf gp we can always buff the barrels again.

Shiznyte1 votes

my mistake it is W you're right. Buff the barrels all you want they are stoppable... the Remove Scurvy is not.

Friendly Ram1 votes

you've never seen ghost barrels?

Shiznyte1 votes

I have, my point was the barrels have out-play potential, Remove Scurvy does not. Even ghost barrels can be stopped because a ghost barrel requires a barrel down to perform the trick and since you can disarm barrels there is potential for out-play.

Eternal7911 votes

I have to agree that this is a bunch of bs. Although its still annoying, I'll accept an ult canceling Urgot's execute mid pull, but a basic ability?

Shiznyte1 votes

yeah i hope they change the interaction. GP already has a lot going for him he doesn't need silly things like this.

Eternal7911 votes

Though you have to admit, those are some pretty amazing oranges. They're healthy, tasty, remove scurvy. and magically make chains attached to a drill lodged in your gut disappear... all while reversing the fatal injury of your insides being drilled into.

Shiznyte1 votes

Sounds about right LMAO

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

1 out of 138 champions, yes.

Shiznyte1 votes

The champion since his rework has had a very hard time being balanced. His kit is entirely too strong and he gets away with way too much. Free gold generation, Global ult "skill shot", insane damage, Free super Qss on a 20 second cool down.

One Ashe On1 votes

My friend, urgot ult is a suppress he drag the opponent in.. it's normal GP W cleanse it since it cleanse any debuff. Qss also work for Urgot pull part, so does mikeal crucible on someone else. It's part of the game, or else it would be lame to lane against urgot.

Shiznyte1 votes

QSS costs 1300 gold and has a 90 sec CD. i'm okay with it doing its job because you commit to it. GP's W cost a bit of mana and is on a 20 second CD... there is a huge difference between the two and I understand GP's escape tool is important i just feel some particular interactions (like this one) should be looked at and maybe adjusted... someones W should not Cancel someones R on Reaction... If you do something like a spell shield (sivir or nocturne) when you have to anticipate that i understand but the GP W is just a silly tool that clearly is busted. and in regards to being lame to lane vs Urgot... look at it from Urgot's perspective too... imagine someone just saying no you cant ult because i have a 20 second CD up... that's lame!

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

Bait out his W by just attacking him plainly using your basic abilities. If he still refuses to use his W, might as well just kill him normally.

Shiznyte1 votes

Yeah with frozen mallet it works out but it takes a while to earn a frozen mallet to be able to force him to use apple early. he currently has no reason to even let urgot get close so walking up and autoing him for free can be tricky also i need to keep my AA's ready to aa his barrels to stop his damage.

Well GP W always been like this and if they kept it this way it mean it's a iconic part of GP... i doubt it will be changed..

Shiznyte1 votes

I'm not asking for the Skill to be removed... i just want specific interactions to be looked at like this one... GP gets away with way to much he is not a very well managed champion by riots balancing system.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

It's intended. You're still able to QSS out of it since the execute part is a suppression.

Shiznyte1 votes

Yeah i think it should be looked at and possibly changed. when you commit 1300 gold and an inventory spot to a QSS it's much more acceptable then a 20 second Cool down with low mana costs completely negating and champions ult... that seems a bit unbalanced.

Halfy1 votes

Was it changed? It didn't work today.

Shiznyte1 votes

To my knowledge it still works.
