Can't Stop Teammates From Making Stupid Mistakes. Rework Your Ranked System Already
Why should I lose LP for it? Started the game with a 3-0 lead for our team with a good invade. And what does my carry decide to do? Rush vamp and mindlessly right in their wave while making awful trades. Jungler repeats said behavior, running in 1v2 and blowing up instantly. A horridly stupid way to lose what should've been a free game.
Goes to show how much of a toss-up ranked is unless you're smurfing playing at a level like 2-3 tiers above the game's matchmaking average. The worst part is probably your shitty LP system in general and its formula. I can play my ass off for a team that's otherwise doing very poorly, win, and gain like 22 LP and lose 17-19 LP. This is while holding a 60% winrate over like 30 games at the time.
And to hell with promos. You know how frustrating it is to fail achieving that 60% winrate in those 5 games praying to whatever deity you worship HOPING your team is at bare minimum, competent enough to not feed/tilt so easily. Increasing the pace of the game worsened the ranked environment. There's more action at the expense of an individual's and strategy, because it's significantly easier for a losing lane to lose faster than an otherwise stable lane to reach that mid-late game or wait for the right opportunity like a gank, which snowballs into taking a tower and/or objective.
Bottom line is, if you're going to have a rank queue called "Solo" queue, the least you could do is gauge it like one. You've had the scoring system for what, 3 seasons in a row, at least? You've also got lane detection included as well. Not sure why since you've made it obvious after your random introduction of the Rift Scuttle EXP buff that you don't give a damn about diversity. But regardless of whether you win or lose, your ascent should be based on YOUR performance alone for the given role. If you were queued as a support, you better damn well be applying ward coverage on the map. If you're playing a juggernaut, then you ought to have a good mix of damage dealt, taken, and team participation. Marksmen should be dealing very high damage with relatively little damage taken. Is that so f*cking hard? If you're willing to introduce the most absurd, worthless, unasked variables into a game that's become insanely difficult to balance, then you could at LEAST try to introduce something productive and valuable to all players. Not a single soul out there particularly likes the current LP system. So do what you do best and try something new -- sooner than later.
I've heard about your plans for ranked changes based on roles months ago. It has its strengths and weaknesses, but continues delivering ultimately more of the same. It's so damn frustrating losing to a team whose lane you stomped but will be getting LP despite their awful performance because they didn't participate enough for it to matter, and simply waited for their stronger teammates to capitalize on my weaker teammates who weren't smart enough to do the same. Because that's what it comes down to -- the worst players, not the best.
