New Fiora and a simple build question

Nahui··2 votes·862 views

So I never bought Fiora because all I saw her as was a damage hose that clicked a couple buttons and either won or lost. Basically, thought she took very little mechanical skill. Since this rework came out, I bought her because she looks more mechanically advanced now and so she is.

So this brings me to the burning question. Her Q. To Trinity Force or not to Trinity Force.

It applies on hits. Also, it has a very low CD if you hit someone with it, something like 2.5 seconds. Is Tri Force a good item on her now? Or do you still want to just send your AD numbers soaring through the roof? I like the stacking MS of her passive and Tri Force, and I believe it gives a nice boost of damage, but idk if she needs such an expensive item. I feel like her actual damage scales a bit less with AD than it did previously so maybe it's a good item considering the damaging portion of her ult is independent of her AD, and the AD scaling on her Q is very poor. Her parry is an AP scaling (benefited) and her e is the only actual damage portion of her that greatly benefits from heavy AD (Two quick strike, crit guaranteed second strike). So far I'm thinking Tri Force gives Fiora's Q the damage it needs to be a much stronger ability considering it is spammable and also in general gives her a flurry of other stats. Any squishies she jumps on will die in a matter of a few hits because of true damage and her general burst but in more prolonged fights, she will use Q many more times so tri force really will come in handy. She doesn't seem like an auto attack steroid of a champ anymore but rather one that lunges around an enemy to strike these vitals.

Please let me know what you guys think.

So...about that armor pen then? 20 armor pen is enough on ghostblade?

Trust me, Ghost Blade is amazing on squishies. You don't even need Last Whisper, heck even on old Fiora I could just get Youmuu's and murder squishies. That flat armor pen is very, very powerful on targets that don't build armor while Last Whisper's % armor pen is great on tanks.

Since Fiora has her passive % max health true damage to shred tanks, she only really needs the flat armor pen on Ghost Blade to kill squishies.

It also builds out of Avarice Blade, which can be a very nice early buy, and gives a bit of AD, Crit Chance, and CDR (all of which new Fiora still loves) on top of the AS/MS active for taking towers or chasing. Just my opinion, but Youmuu's could be a core item on new Fiora.

Build her as a bruiser with a lot of life steal Example ravenous hydra last whisper merc treads or ninja, maw, bt, tri force if you snowballed hard if you are getting blown up randuins or ga if you want some more crit damage ie. all depends on how the situation is going.

So she is no longer a fighter? She's now a bruiser?

no.

you can build her bruiser, but its basically like building yasuo tanky after i.e. wasted potential. you have so much outplay potential in her kit, that you can allow yourself to build squishy in melee and still come out ahead against the most dangerous opponents.

imo the more tanky build is okish on her as long as youre still learning her mechanics. but when you get more practise you should feel confident enought to stack more and more raw damage.

ive been having a lot of success with this build:

22/8/0 masteries (didnt take 3% extra max health and took the mana and health on minions instead).

item 3074 item 3158 item 3071 item 3072 item 3156 item 3742

she scales best with raw ad and cdr imo. by the way, due to her passive, armor pen isnt even important. i mainly build cleaver on her for the ad/cdr combination to get 40% cdr with the boots as soon as possible after the hydra.

both crit and attack speed are terrible stas on her now. crit mainly because its entirely wasted on her e. infinity edge can maybe still be a thing, if you want to boost that e damage to 250%. otherwise, crit chance is a sub par choice.

triforce is overrated on her imo. the on hit damage from sheen is okish. but she scales so goddamn well with cdr, that i feel cleaver will alwas be the better choice. and you got an armor shred item that fits very easily into your build.

ive won duels with her, like you wouldnt believe. ive scored a 2v5 pentakill with a nami by my side and a rammus and jax in the opposing team. ive singlehandedly duelled a jarvan and olaf at the same time and won. ive outduelled a nasus, a maokai, a shen, irelia (parried equilibrium strike, lol) and a bunch of other champions on her. her rework is truly amazing. it really comes down to how well you use riposte imo. if you got the timing right there is no champion in the game you cant fight.

Yes, Triforce on Fiora = Juicy

Well, Trinity is expensive and you don't have a fast way to farm minion waves...

item 3078 is tempting, no doubt. I like the burst it adds and proc'ing off her new Q is hilarious.

But new Fiora auto-attacks quite a bit. Perhaps not as much as old Fiora (and her insane DPS E) but a lot more than a pure AD Caster. It feels to me like it could be a mistake depending on the match up. Fiora still has quite a lot of DPS, and if you invest into a carry build so will still murder everything on the map...she'll just take a little longer and rely more on her team since her doesn't have her old ult.

I've been toying around with some stuff and I kind of like:

item 3074 / item 3031 / item 3142 / item 3046 (or) item 3087 / item 3158 / (last slot is filler for defense, BotRK, or another BF Sword item)

item 3074 still felt like a core item since Fiora has no wave-clear and may end up split-pushing more now that she can jump walls and is less dominant in team fights.

item 3031 feels like it should be core - Fiora gets a guaranteed crit on her 2nd E strike and IE amps that damage as well as any other crits she gets and she dishes out a lot of autos proc'ing her passive and smacking people to death after she Q->E's them so the DPS boost seems worth it.

item 3142 was great on old Fiora and still seems great on new Fiora. The flat pen is powerful, the active is amazing on her, the extra crit synergizes with IE and the extra CDR is greatly appreciated with her high cooldowns.

item 3046 / item 3087 may wind up being sub-optimal, but since her E only speeds up 2 autos it feels like Fiora's going to need to build at least one Attack Speed item so she can take towers with something approaching efficiency and smack people faster to kill them faster after she dives them. PD gives more crit and removes creep block for her ult (not that it will likely matter late game) but Shiv felt really great with a bit of extra burst that can crit even if the stats were lower.

item 3158 have you seen her cooldowns? It was the best pick for old Fiora and looks like it will continue to be Fiora's boots of choice unless you really, really need Merc/Tabi.
