Ornn Top vs Ranged

Hey all,

Started playing Ornn top lane lately and I really enjoy his kit. However, having trouble against ranged champions like most melee’s. However, Ornn seems really bad at last hitting and if I W it really pushes the lane hard. Just looking for some advice on this issue from someone who has Ornn experience. I don’t see much out their regarding this issue so any response is appreciated. I got drilled against teemo last night and from what I understand, Ornn is supposed to do ok against him. Again any advice for handling ranged is most appreciated. Thanks

I use instead of a different starting item
Watch what Teemo builds. He might go AD or might go AP.
Make sure you have Second Wind + Overgrowth
Think about going Sorcery Main/Secondary to get Manaflow Band (leaving lane makes Ornn struggle)
Look at the rest of his team. If they are majority Magic damage, go etc, possibly even a
The sooner you reach 3000 HP the better. Put a into the build.
Don't face tank hard trades. If you have a hard trade, do NOT use E to chase. Use it to escape.
Don't be afraid to buy either; works extemely well if you're attempting a duel, because at high HP, it boosts both his Q and E damage, and at low HP, it's a spell vamp opportunity, to prolong your fight. Insanely good to have that Low HP bonus vs something like a teemo.
Use your R to end fights, not begin them. Teemo is fast, and if you trade him down to ~ 20% HP, your R will have a good chance to execute him. If you Start a fight with it, you won't be as lucky, and he'll just escape outright.

Q will give you a bit more control over your last hit from range, and you can aim it so you don't hit the whole wave if you're just trying not to get pushed off by teemo. I would say Ornn is good into teemo in that he has a lot of ways to not die in lane to him and scales better. W to help against poison damage, q to farm from range, and your ult is great for catching out a teemo for a gank.

MR like Abyssal Mask or Adaptive helm works well, just use your abilities on him when he blinds, then hit him with grasp of the undying for sustain. Build armor and health as needed.
