Yes, "Skill" is important... But Champ Select, and Decision Making, also.

But people seem to forget about the last 2 concepts.

You cant believe, the amount of games, that I lose, because of a poor Decisions Making (Macro Game), or because of a bad Champ Select phase.

Like not picking a Front line at all, picking 4-5 AP/Magic damage champions... Is an example of a poor Champion Select. Of course, I have won battles were we had 5 ranged squishies... But its rare. In most times, enemies can just dive at us at freedom, if we lack a front line, for instance (Tanks or Fighters).

Examples of poor decision making, you all know it... Throwing at baron (Doing when they have vision, not cleaning wards), not doing Drakes in the dozens of times you had opportunities to do so in total safety... Killing enemies and not taking objectives, or rotating poorly. Pushing lanes without inhibitor (My god, this is the one I hate the most XD)

**People are so worried about making "Flashy" plays, that forget that you have to break the Nexus , to win... My god, pfff. ** And sorry, had to get things out of my head.

Problem is the #1 advice players get to climb is to OTP a champion. And one-tricking is like celebrated by the community as a good thing.

Trouble is, if all 5 people or at least 2 are one-tricking there is going to be very little strategy in champ select...

I'd prefer a one trick to a random playing a champ he's inexperienced with, but fits on paper.

One tricks are able to bend the rules of a "proper" team comp through sheer experience and developed creativity

I've seen people on champs they are inexperienced with. I'll pick a team of 1 tricks who have a positive winrate on their 1 tricked champ any day. Team comps almost don't meant anything until the higher ELOs. You have no idea just how often unlikely team comps win games in the lower ELOs.

The '1v9 OTP' philosophy irks me on so many levels.

There are 140 champs, why not experience a few? It's a team game and you're encouraging counterproductive thought patterns. Learning more champs and roles is like learning a second language, it helps you learn more about your primary one. etc...

League is mostly decision making. Even plays that look like they are based purely on reaction time are often actually more reliant on proper use of prediction.

I often get raged at for not taking dragons after someone dies, i want to take it but they refuse to help so i look at them like the idiots they are, or do they expect an eve with barely a single item to solo the dragon quickly enough to avoid being murdered at 150 hp by anyone who glances in my general direction?

When your jungler is not a great dragon taker if you want dragon get off your goddam high horse and help instead of recalling or farming minions.

this is a common knowledge thing, but because the gameplay makes one feel dominant when they kill another player many players dont care about winning. they care more so about feeling dominant. that is why when a player does really well they want to prolong the game for more kills and to embarrass their opponents in order to assert their dominance. and when a player that is asserting their dominance through this way loses due to a comeback they immediately blame someone else.

this is a flaw in the design of league's gameplay that cannot be fixed.

we even see it in pro play when a team is assumed to be outmatched. the dominant team doesn't take the game seriously and sometimes upsets can happen.

in short - this is a negative side effect of lack of discipline.

what do frontlines do? i mean if you got a bunch of damage dealers formation from tanky-ist to squishy. wont enemies be destroyed before getting to that point? since ranged comp has hardcore poke vs enemy teams frontline.

Feels more like the champ select decision making is "do I play this week's 9 OP picks and how much rage will happen if I ban them when my last pick adc is hovering them"..... rather than "oh, we don't have any ap damage, or tank, or cc"

Zilean 1 trick complaining about champ select. You literally force your team to pick a tank in the top lane or jungle. You actually force the entire team around you because you decide to one trick a champion hardstuck P4. You are hardstuck because you are one of the people you are complaining about. What if top and jungle are also one tricks, then you don't have a position to pick a tank... oof. Honestly, haven't been climbing in weeks, time to stop 1 tricking and pick up a tank support, you will find it helps to have it in the bag.

Note, stop blaming teammates, not their fault, there is always something you can be doing better, even if you can't see it.

what annoys me is during champ select players will call a lane but will not pick a champ until last 10 seconds. and you have 90 seconds to do everything. it should not take you 80 seconds to call lane, set runes, set spells in that order. to me, picking a champ is more important than picking a lane. if you dont pick a lane you can fill or improvise. if you dont pick a champ you end up dodging.
