What does this mean?

**When a player is demoted from Master tier to Diamond:

If your MMR is greater than or equal to the Master tier MMR threshold, your LP will be set to 75.**

My question is : if a master player keeps up his MMR above the Master tier MMR threshold, he still drops to dimaond I with 75 LP??

I have problem understanding what does "greater than MMR threshold" mean. Shouldn't we all keep our MMR greater than the MMR threshold?

Each division has an average MMR that the people there are supposed to be. If your MMR is too much below that (like a whole tier of MMR) then when you're demoted you'll go to 25LP instead of 75 in order to get you demoted to where you belong quicker.

It's really hard to have MMR that low. If you're anywhere remotely close to the average then a demotion will put you at 75LP.

Not really. Demotes go with win/lose. Not mmr. If you are 0 lp and lose 3 games in a row, no matter how high your mmr is, you will still drop. If your mmr is high enough when you drop, you will drop with 75 lp. If not, then you drop with less. Those 75 lp are like a second chance, you only need 1 game to get promos and promote again. I am not sure tho if from diamond to master applies in the same way. Master doesn't have divisions so, things might work differently.
