Psh, we can't use this perfectly functional BBcode that's been developed for years and is easy to use and understand on top of being flexible, better do everything automatically and tie everything to asterisks! That's what the people want!

Well, yes, actually. **hello world** is simply easier to type than [B]Hello World[/B] in my honest opinion, just as an example.

If you need to use asterisks normally (or any formatting syntax normally for that matter) use "" before it and it won't engage the auto-formatting.

So I have to use formatting to avoid using formatting.

This is why I said "in my honest opinion". In your opinion you find BBC Code easier, if I understand you correctly.

In my opinion I find Markdown easier, albeit this is a limited version as the Boards formatting is still quite incomplete. I usually find that anyone giving the Boards formatting a hard time are usually doing it because they don't know the syntax (because the closest thing to a guide that's provided only covers about half of what you can do right now). Hence the reason I explained using an escape to allow for astericks.

I understand there is more to BBC code, I was using that as an example.
