Why Champion 6/7 Mastery Costs Should be Lowered

Hello, I've got a perspective of why champion mastery costs for levels 6 and 7 should be lowered in this new system. It's a point I haven't seen anyone bring up (or maybe it has been brought up and I've just missed it), so I thought I'd make a post. I'm going to be comparing the costs to level up champion masteries 6 and 7 using the old and new system.

Most of us now know where the costs for upgrading champion masteries (3250 BE for level 6 and 3900 for level 7) came from at this point in time. It was comparing IP gain from the old system and BE gain with the new system and the BE cost was multiplied by 6.5 from the old system to receive these numbers (500 x 6.5 = 3250, 600 x 6.5 = 3900). If we're willing to accept the argument that the BE gains in this new system are roughly the same as IP gains from the old system (for the sake of the argument, let's say that we are willing to accept this fact), then the costs to level up champion mastery to 6 and 7 are, in my opinion, still way too high. The reason for this is: with the old system, you received both IP AND BE. This can potentially make a huge difference in the cost for champion mastery upgrades. In the old system, BE only served 2 purposes (that I can recall): unlocking champions and unlocking champion masteries 6/7. A currency that only does those two things is no longer in the game, so it's like the entire playerbase lost access to that currency, and for this reason, champion mastery costs should be lowered. Let me demonstrate further with an example:

Let's say in the old system you were able to gain ~4000 IP and 600 BE in a set time period (please note this is a made-up example, I have no idea what the approximate ratio of IP/BE gain was in the old system. If anyone does know an approximation, please share), with the combination of these currencies that you received, you would be able to upgrade one of your champion masteries from level 6 to 7 with ONLY the BE that you received, which would leave the other 4000 IP to use to unlock whatever you want. However, with this new system, you would only receive the 4000 BE, which would mean you only have enough BE to upgrade one of your champions to mastery 7 and have only 100 spending BE left over. In this particular example, for someone who participates in champion mastery upgrading, they're receiving significantly less currency with the new system.

But, again, I have no idea what the ratio of gaining IP/BE was in the old system, but the point still stands. For someone who participates in the champion mastery system in the game, they are receiving far less currency when compared to the old system.

I acknowledge that the new system brought more ways to receive champion shards, which means it is more likely that you won't have to pay with BE because you can put a champion shard in its place, but I don't think that we should have to rely on RNG to receive approximately the same amount of currency as we did before the BE update.

This is a thought I had when the change came out, but I read somewhere that Riot was considering lowering the cost of champion mastery. However, since that change has not been made yet, I figured it was time for me to make this post to give people my perspective on champion mastery. Anyway, sorry for the long post, let me know what you think.

I no longer upgrade mastery unless I have an extra shard. There's no real value to do so anyway.
