So basically you should never max Garens Q before E now.

So I usualy never max my Q first (mostly because the E does more damage, and its a better spell to spam off damage), but with this new Garen Buff/nerfs, Riot is basically saying dont max Q.

the only reason to max the Q at all is to get more time on the silence, but since the Q is now 1.5 seconds all levels its pointless to max it first.

I am curious to see how the new titanic hyrda/warmongers works on Garen for he could be one scary dude.

titanic hydra looks like its shit on him tbh. on hit damage isnt exactly what he wants, since he only auto attacks between spins. and he doesnt need extra waveclear either. he gets extra waveclear anyways if you build more ad instead.

the only positive aspect i could see come from it would be the extra burst with the big hydra active and his q combined.

steraks looks like its okish, but its more valuable on triforce bruisers since it actually increases base ad. so sheen procs will deal 25%/50% more damage with the item.

the only really useful item that came for him with all the changes is dead mans plate.

UNIQUE Active - Crescent: Your next basic attack deals physical damage equal to 20 plus 10% of your maximum health in a larger cone on hit (20 second cooldown, Cleave doesn't apply to this attack).

This is why, If you build alot of health with warmongers and sunfire, then your Q will do a shit ton of damage. I usualy use the Q as a good initiate to followup with the E.

the reason thought It seem good is that is does mroe damage with the more health you have, and I usualy build alot of health on him to make him a scary tank.

ok, so you deal more damage with your q every what? 25 seconds? and your actual damage tool, your spin barely does anything with a full defensive build.

seems gimmicky and not worth. i rather still build infinity edge on him with a couple of defensive items. because a q crit probably has the same effect as your big hydra active, but in addition the spin deals a shitload of damage, every time.

youre right, and they did more buffs to the E than to the Q so IE would be a better fit with it rather than the Q. Still Im pumped to try the new Garen out.

imactually really scared of nasus. think about it for a second. titanic hydra synergizes with his ult. at full build, the active adds a good 500 damage to his q, since he can actually afford to build all out tank items and still deal damage. then it also adds a good another 50 physical on hit damage, and of course 50 ad on the item itself.

he likes to build sheen items to amplify his q damage even more. steraks health synergizes with the big hydra. it also increases sheen damage by 25% (50% in rage mode) because it increases base ad (which of course are also added to his q as another 30 ad).

i feel like he will be absolutely able to delete people with those items.

And here I was wondering how it would work on Garen, and didnt think of the king of the scary Q.........maybe nasus mains wont see it and just go about there day.....or maybve theyll use it and have the Q do crazy damage wtih alot of stacks and the active of Titanic....

But Garen got more damage and a buff to warmongers so hopefully he will just put the dog back in line.

ill be honest. im actually curious about the look on an ad carries face, when nasus activates the big hydra, flashes in his face and hits him with a q. that would be quite a spectacle. i mean its already fun to watch a lategame nasus chunk a squishy, but that will be hilarious.

Ehh. Zz'rot Garen will be better. Garen doesnt need more offense then a Cleaver honestly.

what are they changing about the item by the way? while the active is kindof cool, right now it just doesnt seem that good stat wise.

Speed boost is down to 20%, but now no longer instantly falls off when outside of range of a tower/void gate/tower stub, doubling the effective range of the speed boost.

Voidling damage to towers now scales off of 15% max HP instead of resistances. 3.5k is about 500 damage.

Voidlings now lose a % of their current HP, doubling their effective range.

Also Garen's new W passive is a buff to his MR itemization considering he rarely exceeded 150MR. Now with Zz'rot's, MR per level, and Garen's W at level 18, Garen has 53+30+60+27=170MR with just Zz'rot's.
