Why is Yasuo so basic yet so cool?

The plays I've seen his mains make are insane. How can so much skill be displayed through usage of a simple stab and dash. (Even his wall has sum cool interaction with q)

No shit.

If you make Garen's regen passive permanently active, have an additional second passive of whatever, give Garen's Q 3 stages which is also a ranged attack, make his W an AoE effect, make his E a toggle so he can infinitely spin if he wants, and his ulti able to execute from range and blink Garen to his victim, and his entire kit has barely an CD on top of the fact it already has no resource management, ofc that would also make him "so basic yet so cool".

The skill comes from making correct decisions, not from a complex kit. Yasuo has what, like 10 different mechanics/combos? Yet those can be applied in dozens or even hundreds of ways at any time and making a wrong decision can easily lead to death.

There is a lot of truth to the old joke that the skill in Yasuo is learning to not kill yourself.

Because he's overloaded in the sense that he has moves and combos that can be buffered through Flash, can cancel animations, etc.

Unlike most champions, he has the ability to be so versatile because he has an answer or technique for everything.
