Challenger/Diamond Smurfs

So I've asked many of the enemy challenger/diamond smurfs as to why they insist on bullying the legitimate mid to low elo players struggling to climb.

Some answers:

  1. The queue time in diamond/challenger is 30minutes+ at times and it's not worth waiting.
  2. To help boost a struggling mid to low elo friend.
  3. Because roflstomping baddies is funny.
  4. "Git gud baddie stop complaining and deal with it"
  5. People pay me to boost them.
  6. Streaming a "Bronze to Challenger marathon"
  7. Main got permabanned so now I have to play from a fresh 30.
  8. Purposely deranking increase a winrate of a certain champion above 90%

That being said, what can we mid to low elo players do to fight against these smurfs? It almost feels like the only way to combat against a challenger smurf is to ALSO be a challenger. Otherwise your work and effort gets buried under their superiority and better-quality work every single game.

It used to be a small number of players smurfing, but now it feels like every 2nd or 3rd game will have a minimum of 1 high plat/diamond/challenger boosting.

I just feel like the game isn't allowing players to climb because of 'their own work'. It just feels like either I'm going to get carried by a challenger smurf or get completely destroyed by one on enemy team. There honestly has to be another solution to combat these guys.

I get that the portion of plat/diamond/challengers isn't as huge compared to that of gold/silver/bronze, but as of right now the games have been 1-sided. Either it's our team completely dominates or the enemy team completely dominates. Maybe 1 out of 20-30 games will there be an actual even skilled matchup on both sides.

I know I'm not offering a solution, but I'm asking for one.

It is a bad assumption but when I play ranked now a days... I like to believe there are at least two smurfs or boosted players in the game. Honestly it hasn't disappointed me yet.

You meet real boosted accounts in modes like Normal Blind/Draft and often ARAM then going to na.op.gg to check their stats and or previous season stats, they don't add up.

In conclusion, people whose account is being boosted and or is a smurf... There really isn't any sure way nor means to and end to eliminate this struggle for those who are trying to solo/duo climb. Regardless you will always encounter a boosted/boostee player in Ranked.

Theres a good chance you'll also get the smurf, its not like they're only on the enemy team.
