Plat player being matched with silver/bronze in norms?

Hello, I'm a plat player and when I play norms I commonly get matched with silver/bronze/unranked. Recently I was in a game with 6 silver, 2 bronze, and 1 unranked for example. I haven't done the research on how norm match making works and why it's different than ranked but I'm curious if someone has an explanation? I was asked in said game why I was there, I didn't have a good answer lol. Does anybody know how this works?

Normals MMR and ranked MMR are separate, its likely that your normals MMR is closer to low gold/high silver because you haven't worked as hard to bring it up as you have for your solo/duo mmr.

normals have their own mmr

so if silver played too much normals that he has high winrate in normal games he get matched with people like him regardless of their ranked elo

The more you play Normals, the more your normal MMR will even out to where you are in ranked.

Like one thing that shows how different ranked and normal are is im silver 3 this year in ranked, I faced a total of 7 challengers (WHY COULDN'T THEY BE ON MY FUCKING TEAM RITO?????). Got my ass kicked big time lol. But their MMR in normal is really low do to how much they play ranked over normals, while mine is quite high due to how much I play normals over ranked.
