New Adaptive Helm on PBE...

So this isn't a rage post or something, just a post to try and get discussion going.

The new tank item on PBE called Adaptive Helm seems like it heavily counters certain mages while not really affecting others.

Adaptive Helm Total Cost: X Recipe: X Sells for: x +300 Health +70 Magic Resist +100% Base Health Regeneration +10% Cooldown Reduction UNIQUE Passive: Taking magic damage from a spell or effect reduces all subsequent magic damage taken from that spell or effect by 15% for 5 seconds.

I can see it's probably the MR version of thronmail. Which is needed but is this the best way to do it?

Champs like Taliyah, Syndra, Brand, Swain, Karthus, Morgana, Teemo, Cass, and Aurelio Sol (just to name a few) will just feel bad to anyone who builds it. I'm afraid of squishes building this and abusing it.

Could the damage reduction perhaps be nerfed but scale up with bonus MR? Kinda like how Thornmail also scales off of more armor.

Trust me no squishy will build this. Its a new tank item to itemize against AP as there are very few options. It's a niche item thats only good against DoT and continuous spells. 15 percent is not that much considering you are already hitting a tank and likely doing little damage as it is.

I don't really get what the passive is supposed to do. Sure, mages like Karthus or Cass will be able to damage you with the same spell in a 5s window, but most mages rotate through spells.
