Fiora and Thornmail

So fiora's basic attacks now do true damage, why doesn't the new thornmail change reflect that? Since it's a basic attack regardless if it does true damage, it should reflect back at her. Shouldn't just be physical damage now, especially with all the % dmg and true damage abilities riot has decided to implement on everyone. After all, it calculates before armor and magic damage anyways. Atleast this will help out the lack of protection thornmail provides since it's change.

Thornmail: Unique: On being hit by basic attacks, returns 15% of damage taken plus +25% bonus armor) , before any reductions such as armor, as magic damage.

her auto attacks dont deal true damage. if im not mistaken its an on-hit effect that is applied in addition to her auto attacks, when she triggers a mark.

but for the rest of the damage, it triggers thornmail normally.

by the way youre better off buying qss against her to cleanse her ult, than buying the trash that thornmail has become. its not even a good item against ad carries anymore.

How to counter true damage.....Build HP. True damage is only OP against someone like Malphite who relies on stacking armor.

Yea, that's why I said they keep implementing too many champion that do true damage or % damage or both. Last few champions had atleast one ability that does % damage. They are removing tanking from this game. It's burst or nothing.

Her true damage is not from basic attacks, rather, she procs it with her basic attacks. Her W can also proc it.

You're not supposed to build against %max hp true damage. That's the point. You have to outplay them or play around them, not just be a ball of stats.

I really don't understand why people say counter true damage with health. Have they never heard of botrk? every true damage hitter gets this item as well and there is no way to negate their damage.

Flat damage ok, %true: You need to keep in mind that their whole kit isn't 100% true damage. Defense will help against the rest of their damage (bork isn't a true damage%, it's current% physical, which IS affected by armor.)

and their true damage is not affected by armor. health stacking doesn't work because of botrk. Yeah its physical, but they can get last whisper and even bc if they really want to go nuts on the armor slaying . The problem isn't true damage, its not %max or current health, its not armor/mr pen; It is a combination of them that almost always exists. If tanks build a ton of resist plus hps, they aren't building damage. There is supposed to be a tradeoff, which isn't really there anymore. Which is why we have tanks with higher damage scaling because they weren't expected to be crawling into a battle with a ton of damage that never makes it to the enemy. They stack armor and hps. But they don't anymore. Tankier champs are building damage now and scaling too hard because they weren't supposed to. They still have a hard time engaging with the enemy which leads to feast and famine champs that do too much damage and snowball or feed hard before they get anywhere to do the damage. Its impossible to balance anymore which leads to the horrible garen rework that has turned him into an assassin that needs like 7 k into speed before he has the engage he needs to be one.
