April Fools is over, 'Caster' ADCs need to go

The original concept of the ADC was to have high sustained DPS but in exchange be a useless potato for all of early game and for most circumstances even after that due to low burst and high item dependency

But nowadays we got the 'new and improved' ADC which is basically just an AD Mage with slightly shorter range but is way tankier and has lifesteal.

Graves/Lucian/Cracki/Ezreal/Jhin are abusively strong in lane, are super strong for the entirety of the game, are borderline impossible to duel, and continue to scale extremely well into late game.

As if things weren't hilarious enough, these Caster ADCs are all mobile and are absurdly tanky - it's as if every defense item in the game were designed with them in mind. When a Tank builds 3-4 defense items they end up doing no damage and still dying pretty fast, when Graves builds 1-2 defense items you can forget about killing him and he'll blow your face off in like 3 seconds flat. ** The fundamental problem with 'Caster' ADCs is that they don't have any of the disadvantages of a traditional DPS **

  • Casters are infinitely easier to kite/ orb-step with because their APM requirement is generally lower AND it's way easier to sling spells in general directions worrying only about angle of casting as opposed to AA orb-stepping in which you need to mouse in the right angle and the right depth and at higher APM

  • Spells have long AF range

  • Attack Speed is probably like the shyttiest offensive stat, and as a Caster you don't have to build much of it

  • Burst >>> DPS in laning as well as general trading

  • It's way harder to zone off a Caster from a fight because they'll just run back a few steps then throw their burst at your face while life-stealing because why not, then rinse and repeat. With AA-based ADCs when you chase them they actually lose a huge amount of their damage unless they're some kind of LCS pro.

  • Casters transition easily into mid game because they have good AD scaling on their abilities

No I love it when I have to stack magic resist against a pure AD team because the enemy has a 0/3 Corki

Graves - You don't really see him bot lane anymore due to his passive making it harder to cs during early game. His Q does decent damage after the nerf, which can be easily avoided. His only other real damaging ability is his ult, which like every other ADC ult is a hard hitter (Cait, Jinx, Ashe, etc). His W is primarily used for zoning. His E is used for repositioning, similar to Vayne's roll, Cait's dash and Lucian's dash.

Lucian - Q does moderate damage, W does very little damage, E is a dash, and his ult only hurts if you are playing an immobile champ. His abilities are mainly used to proc his passive, which allows his normal autos to double shoot, the latter shot doing less damage than a normal auto.

Corki - Q does decent damage, W is a dash, Powered Up W does a lot of damage (but nobody is going to use that into a team fight), E does very little damage and his ult has very poor scaling early game.

Ezreal - I would say Ezreal is the only exception to being auto attack dependent. Even though he can get an additional 50% attack speed from his passive, he has to spam his abilities to get there, which is really what Ezreal is about. But his early game is trash because he builds tear first (assuming blue build) and doesn't have a real damaging item until mid game.

Jhin - His Q is literally like Miss Fortune's. If you don't wanna be hit by it, don't stand near the minions (it was also recently nerfed). His W doesn't do much damage, it's only used to snare people. His E grants him traps, much like Cait's except they slow instead of snare. His ult is very strong, I'll give you that. His crits do less damage than normal unless it's his 4th shot and his attack speed is automatically turned into AD. He is very item dependent and shines late game.

The only "tanky" champ here is Graves, but that's because after his rework, he became more short ranged.

**Some ADCs have dashes, others don't. ** Jinx gets a snare and passive movement speed from towers Miss Fortune gets a slow and passive movement speed Ashe gets all the slows and a stun Varus get's a slow and a snare Jhin gets a snare, a slow and passive movement speed from crits Sivir gets a spell shield and movement speed

A bunch of ADCs have long ranged abilities (excluding ults). Ashe's W and E Jinx's W Cait's passive Varus's Q Sivir's Q Jhin's W Ezreal in general (Just how he was made) Notice how only one of these champs are considered OP to you. We already established Ezreal was the exception.

The only Burst > DPS champs on your list are Jhin and Graves.

You don't need to be an "LCS pro" to learn how to do damage with auto attacks while running away. It's called kiting.

And you do know that you can buy life steal items as any AD champ right?
