So, about the Reworked Shen's Spirit Blade..

It seems, well, clunky. The only reliable way to actually strike someone with it, is to Shadow Dash through them. And, quite frankly, if you do get behind someone to use it WITHOUT Shadow dashing first, if that person isn't completely oblivious, they could quite easily avoid it. Also, since it is difficult to control, his W is equally clunky and difficult to control. So, I'd like to propose a change to the Spirit Blades functionality. Perhaps making it a skillshot, with a minimum and maximum distance, casted at the range in which the players cursor currently is,(Didn't know what the proper name of this type of skillshot was) to allow more control. Instead of following Shen at the beginning of the match, have it floating directly behind him, and after his Twilight Assault has been cast, after a few seconds or when shen recasts his Q(throwing it back out immediately) it returns directly to him. It would, of course, go beyond those seconds if W was activated. This would allow better control over his Spirit blade and W. Now, I guess, it's time for me to hope that a Rioter with the power to change the Spirit Blades functionality sees this. Though, I doubt that it will happen.

I've been watching riddlershen play him on the PBE and once he gets a trade off his blade is pretty deep into enemy territory and at that point it's a really strong zoning tool since the enemy getting between him and the blade means they'll lose another trade at a very small energy cost to shen.

I can totally see that. Since his AA is now his only farm mechanic he will freeze lane really well. Still though they replaced his "boring" mechanics with a mechanic that essentially zones so effectively that the other person cant trade? Sounds so fun lol.

It's not that they can't trade, it's that a successful trade (aka getting hit by the taunt) means you have to be even more careful on the next trade.

And let's be honest here: literally anything is more interesting than targeted ranged damage with an hp/5 buff that makes you win trades in a way that isn't immediately recognizable.

Yeah, I can see that. my only worry is that his W becomes difficult to use properly in a teamfight due to this. But I could be wrong. Thank you for this, it relieves some worry about him.

I said almost the same thing. Its a dog chain and its a terrible mechanic gameplay-wise and flavor-wise. These things I call in my workplace: "someone's good bad idea." It's one of those things the person who made it thinks is so cool and is so passionate about it, their underlings get suckered into believing it and eventually it goes live and everyone....EVERYONE HATES it and knows it was a terrible idea.
